how do you deal with cockroaches?

what sorts of measures do you take to remove them, kill them, expose them, and deter them?

a bunch got into my house the other day and I've been trying to get rid of them, I've tried flashing them, speaking gibberish at them, calling them names, putting a strobe light to them and even hitting them with a hammer, I'm reluctant to use open flames though but I was wondering what the deal is with them scattering at light if they do it at all, would this work?

what if I used a UV lamp to simulate the daytime? I've heard of the risks of cancer through this so I'm hesitant to use this as well

they keep coming in and eating my cheetos and mountain dew

Boric acid powder kills and deters them. Might not be cool if you have small kids or pets, but its killer. Sprinkle it around points of entry and along walls wherever they travel.

On the /b/ board I saw the forward link to this board. When I saw that it was the "raid" board, I immediately assumed it was designed to discuss things like being faggots on internet games or blowing up someone's shit. I then tried to recall any existence of a board such as that in the past and concluded that I didn't remember one so I must be a newfag.

Upon further lurking on this board, I found that this was perhaps the original intent, to confuse those first peering into the board to have a look-see. Raid, as in the bug killer spray? Clever...

I haven't seen any explanation of this particular board posted anywhere. Should there be an explanatory summary of this board somewhere in the public's eye, as to inform viewers that there is intended confusion?

It would be appreciated.

I wonder what will happen if I post a thread about an actual raid instead of killing bugs? I assume this is gonna get me banned, and this thread will be deleted, but I guess we'll see.
So, /i/nsurgents, what say we talk about the days of yore and truly glorious raids that have occurred in the past?

"McKay Hatch: The Most Cyberbullied Kid in the World!"
With a name like that, I can see why. What a fucking faggot. "Let's raise our level of communication!"
More like "Let's needlessly censor ourselves because of what a 14-year-old thinks!"

This year I discovered a really good repellant solution for keeping small sugar ants from climbing on furniture.

All you need to do is wrap a piece of duct-tape around the legs of the furniture, sticky side outward. Then take a damp paper wipe, sprinkle cinnamon on it, and use it to lightly coat the bottom half of all the duct tape pieces.

The ants hate both the cinnamon and the duct tape, and they never try to climb past it. Change a couple times a year.

That's not working for my grandmother, whose kitchen is being slowly taken over by the little sods, trying to get to the fridge and store cupboard. I've got plentiful spare duct tape and cinnamon, might give this a go. Particularly as a regular visitor to her place is a young cousin who's just learned to walk and so has entered the "wander about faster than grandma can follow and stick EVERYTHING in your mouth" phase, which has made me rather reticent to try the otherwise normal tactic of blasting all of their likely entry points with insecticide powder.

The best way to get rid of them is to kill them at their source.

Trace them back to their nest and place a black bin-bag over the top of the nest, pin it down with rocks and come back mid-afternoon in about two weeks. When you lift it up you'll notice that the ants have moved all their eggs to the surface underneath the bag where it's warmest. Dump a can of ant-powder over it, stir up the surface dirt and do it again. If you're feeling especially evil, put the bag back and come back in another two weeks, They never seem to learn.

Brucefags get a free pass for not wanting spiders in their bedrooms.

It's easy to criticise the choice if you instead live - like I do - in a country where spiders are almost universally bros, eating bluebottles and houseflies and wasps and all those other lower-grade motherfuckers.

Funnelwebs et al don't care, they'll just fuck you up. The best cure is a preemptive strike.

I have a severe problem, yesterday a demon came crawling towards me along the wall

I heard white vinegar works as a repellent and even that it kills them, however I'm not sure about this, I heard about you guys and I knew you were the ones to ask, does it work?

I need to know because the lighting in the place isn't so great, and the carpet is just the perfect colour to help them hide, they mostly come at night, mostly
