All the new counter file sharing measures make me paranoid, as I think they should anyone. I know that a private tracker makes it harder to get busted, but now that ISPs are voluntarily policing downloads (see link), it seems like acting against peers on a private tracker becomes more of an option. I don't know how 7track is progressing, but would there be any interest/possibility of using some anonomizing and privacy enhancing software? My two thoughts are Anomos and setting up an i2p eepsite and tracker.
Anomos is "based on the peer/tracker concept of BitTorrent in combination with an onion routing anonymization layer, with the added benefit of end-to-end encryption." The project seems dead, but it looks like all the files and docs are still available. http://anomos.info/wp/
From what I understand, i2p is like a network made up exclusively of Tor hidden services, and where every user is forced to act as a node. I've just started using it, and though its pretty slow, file sharing is pretty well supported. http://www.i2p2.de/
Any thoughts? There would probably be a significant speed trade-off, but in my opionion its well worth it.
