Series you hate yourself for liking? Pic related. This is one of my many.
You really should. It's one of the best SoL comedies to come out in recent years. After the first ep the show focuses more on the Yuru and less on the Yuri.
Slice of Life and comedy can mix? Since when did anime accomplish this?
Yuruyuri is addictive. VERY addictive. Both Seasons.
Hands off Chitose though-she's mine.
I made it through SW the first series, dnf'ed S2. I discovered it's predecessor that is actually done mostly by the people who did SW,
You'll utterly despise yourself for enjoying Sky Girls. But you're /a/ masochist. Enjoy.
any thoughts on the series? I quite enjoyed it, what with the "monster of the week" theme and whatnot.
I loved that series-what I could get of it. Got the /a/ DVDs, and have the hardcopy manga.....until it's demise with Del Rey. Why Kodansha didn't pick it up is beyond me. I thought it sold pretty well.
I was so p-o'ed about the manga debacle, I blanked my mind at reading it online. I think I may have to pick up-where Del Rey left off.
Hey, Reiri could always bring me back. I never got rid of the hardcopy that DID get released. That's a keeper.
How do you feel about anime crossovers? I'm really hyped for the Dragonball x One piece x Toriko special that's to be aired soon.

They are usually just bad filler episodes.
Unless of course CLAMP does them.
What did you guys think of eureka seven? I personally loved the anime, and the movie was alright, kind of left something to be desired at the end. Is ao worth giving a shot?
Saw most of it on Adult Swim. Thought it was okay.
It could have been way better if they didn't go schizo with the whole "We're all happy now! Woops, wait, we're depressed now. Oh hey, we're happy again!" thing.
I saw the whole thing as I forced myself to get through it because friend raved about it.
Personally I think it's terrible. Every character was annoying, the battles were bland and uninspired, the themes in the plot were never fleshed out well enough, and, the music wasn't so special. Those fucking kids caused me to fast forward every time I saw them too!
Xam'd just as bad because it carried so many themes over from E7.
Keep in mind I watch mecha shows almost exclusively and this is just such a shitty example of one. It honestly looked like they tried to reboot gundam with a hipster vibe but ended up being a suckfest.
Okay, so I've been attempting to catch up with my /a/ viewing lately, and there's not much of the new season I worry about keeiping up with outside of Haganai Next. But I realized a few things tonight while catching up.
For one thing, it's been a mite stagnant here, and though my success rate as an OP sucks ass with a slurpee straw, I've been doing some imbibing while watching and figured a "my own state of the /a/" spiel might be in order. If not, let the sagebomibng commence. Maybe that'll light a fire under some /a/sses.
Okay, so what've I been watching lately? Been keeping up with what I said above, and for some reason, got hooked on Little Busters too. That's pretty much it for anything current. I've noticed some S2s- a few that've been in re-watch mode- recently too.
Hidamari Sketch Honeycomb-Once it switched to chornologic order, it sealed it's own fate. It's one thing for 2 main characters to graduate, but Nori.....as a sempai? <shudders with overdose of vanilla>.
Medaka Box Abnormal-Haven't read the manga, but apparently the dvd of S1 sell worse then Nichijou, so how and why an S2? How and why do I find Medaka Box addictive? And if it sells so bad, why did they leave the obvious cliffhanger that is a lead in to an S3....if it doesn't sell?
Hagani 2 is awesome. Even the OP & ED songs are growing on me. And to someone from the last Boku Wa Tomodachi thread....screw you, Rika's awesome. I know, I have her figure. "Next" is holding up well, but there has all the signs of an S3 for it, which I am all for.
Now if the same thing can be said for Is This A Zombie S3.
I was ready to go on vacation in a week or so and catch up on my dvd viewing (computers stay at home, less chance to work, more chance to relax), but that's been canceled, so I'm gonna watch & re-watch some /a/ dvds all next week instead of listing stuff on ebay. Haven't re-watched Azumanga Daioh or My HiME in about a year, might do some reminiscing.
What am I looking forward to /a/ wise? The full release of the KiraKira anime, since there are no torrents for the December release....and yeah, this might give some old-timers here a jolt to the pacemakers....I'm looking forward to the first subs of the new season of Railgun.
Message too long. Click here to view the full text.
As I was doing some reviewing of Boku Next, something hit me from when I got the latest ep off of Mazui. They mentioned something about this season following the light novel. I've tried to keep up with the manga-online, and thankful for a hardcopy version-but it hit me......
I don't know where everyone on /a/ is located, and I dunno about y'all---but I can't find light novels in bookstores hardly at all. I prefer hardcopy myself. I have the Haruhi Series-but it's still a few years behind what got translated online. My eyes aren't too good for reading much online. Subtitles-no problem. After awhile, text gets blurry.
But back to the subject. Light Novels. Does anyone see them....or read them? I've read Haruhi, I started on Chibi Vampire-but Tokyopop went belly up. I'd like to find a translated hardcopy of Boku etc., but I don't think it's gonna happen.
The one medium that still hasn't gotten over outside Japan.
Pics .... since it's an imageboard.
Waitwat? Self bumpage? You betcha!
Since I just did my darndest to de-rail another thread, I figured I'd already had enough to dri, watch recently, and though it's not the weekend-where I;'d update this drivel, why not do it now?
Boku wa tomodachi thread has been moved.
Nope, nuthin about that here & now, since I've been thinking, watching, and reading more /a/ stuff lately. Did a marathon of Demon King Daimao last weekend, and I still like it as much as ever. Something about series from 2-3 years ago just seem to hold up well. I still can't find a Lily Shirashi figure though, dammit.
I'd forgotten there was a Joshiraku OVA out. Glad I found out about it earlier this week. Kumeta taking more potshots, but good ones. Could there be a JoshirakuXSayonara Zetsubo Sensei crossover OVA? I wouldn't count it out-but who's going to risk doing it?
Picked up a manga (I collect hardcopy) recently on a whim, and have been kicked in the head for it quite pleasantly. I usually don't go for anything much shoujo, but "Missions Of Love" is a knuckleball sandwich. Depending on how this goes...if there's an anime from it-yeah, I'll watch.
Okay, time to hit the rack wake up, go to work, come home and catch up on uTorrent tomorrow night.
Content? Nah, Never heard of it.
I see what you started over in /b/.
SHOW OF THE SEASON EVERY SEASON
Ouchie. Tis a tough, but either thought-out, or danged lucky reply. What with using Takako against me. She is my favorite character from Kannagi.
What can I say? nice pick.
I'll probably be comin' right back atcha soon, but re-watching Boku #10-the comebacks aren't as snappy as I'd thought. But I'll probably retort soon.
Pics-for the sake of showing what else has been recently viewed.
I find the translation more unsettling.
What else can you expect from Exiled-Destiny, one of the worst subgroups on par with GG, Commie & CR
Just finished Elfen Lied after marathoning it through last night and today. Why the fuck I didn't read it until now, I do not know.
What did you all think of the ending? Some people say it's a bullshit cheesy ending, but I loved it to death even though it is pretty cheesy/improbable.
Cried tears of sadness all through chapter 106, cried tears of happiness all through chapter 107. 3rd time I've cried like a little bitch from a manga, Cried 10 times harder than the first two incidents together.
Read/watch any depressing or tearjerking mango or animu lately?
Okay, perhaps I applied the wrong phrase to the idea. What I meant to convey is that if you simply say "X sucks" or "I liked X" it bears hardly any substance. There's not much which can come from such a statement. On the other hand, if you explain why you feel the way you do, it opens the door to further discussion and information. Someone who wants to know about a certain piece of media might take such information into mind when viewing and hold a more learned opinion of said media instead of being severely disappointed or greatly biased.
I admit that it's a mild concern at best, but I happen to enjoy seeing informed opinions more than blatantly empty comments. It's good to have a conversation with someone who actually contributes knowledge to the discussion.
Where the hell were you two duing the latest saged (and rightfully so) "Remember when" thread last week?
Ew the ending is just eww
which idolm@ster would you hug

A lover needs only a beloved for their love to thrive.
O PITIABLE CREATURE WHOSE LOVE IS SO WEAK AS TO DIE SIMPLY WHEN AFFECTION IS NOT RETURNED!
Nah dude, I love damn near everyone I meet.
It's more about companionship than one-way-love with me.
Caring more about companionship only verifies that a Lover, you are not. You can't love everyone. Love is exclusive. You don't know what love is. Be content with your amity, because it's all you have. We... we have monitors to hug.
