Watched the first remake and it was good. Only thing I missed was Caska's old voice actress (who also did Asuka). It's funny there was no Puck and magic bullshit which is the biggest complaint people always made about the original version.

I liked Manga and Anime versions though, and I like this one.

Second Movie has been out on blue ray a week I think but I don't see any translations. Seems odd but I haven't paid attention to subbers for about 10 years.

It was horrible, I hated the fuck out of it.

The ending was fucking retarded, "AWW LOOK I MADE A HORRIBLE LIFE DECISION TOO LETS DO THE SAME THING ALL OVER AGAIN". Awful cliched garbage. I to this day regret wasting 10 hours of my life on that anime, what a heap of shit. At least Shinichiro Watanabe did the soundtrack though, that made it slightly less unbearably stupid and cliched. Like, I kind of get what they were going for, they were going for like a Samurai Champloo type thing where it's all about the journey, but there isn't NEARLY as much action as Samurai Champloo in this, Michiko is LEAGUES more predictably selfish and conceited than any of the characters in Samurai Champloo, and all of the side characters were fucking two-dimensional caricatures that could have totally never shown up in the show and it wouldn't have made the show any better or worse.

Too long, didn't want to read all that?: I hated it, definitely one of the shittiest animes I have seen in a long time.

Fuck every one of you moe-intoxicated faggots.

I hate K-On with an undying passion. I hate this moe-blob bullshit. I watched every excruciating minute, trying to make sense of it, trying to understand what the appeal for you neckbeards was. I came up blank.

No series made in the last half decade has made me feel the same way Full Metal Panic, Black Lagoon or Samurai Champloo did.

What happend to great anime?

K-On. That's what.

Steins;Gate would be epic, but it's tainted by mood spoiling moe anusfilth. Tuturu in hell Mayushi. Same problems with just about every piece of gold that japan churns out these last few years - a fucking schoolgirl's dump has been laid on top it.

I hope you faggots are ashamed. I really do, because of you aren't, then the anime industry is fucked.

Not really sure about that. The problem is, there is so much hatred of the very word "moe" that it has been used (overused, really) to describe pretty much anything with women/girls who aren't fighting or action heroes.

Specifics be damned, I guess. It's an easy way to paint with a very wide brush.

Pic not exactly related, just figured I'd use something.

This board hasn't spoken about Shinsekai Yori yet, and it really should. It's a wonderful sci/fi fantasy piece with an extremely inventive and detailed world, incredible characterization, and a hefty quantity of philosophical and religious concepts. All the lol so deep you could want combined with genuine artistic quality. During the entire action sequence, I found myself impatiently waiting for them to get back to talking. This is the only anime I have ever seen which made me think to myself 'if this were a book, I would actually enjoy reading it.'

I don't feel as if anyone here is getting the same thing out of this anime as I am. Although I shamefully admit the other side of the fence from >>32731 in that the Satoru/Shun relationship was pretty hot. Just too old.

If it bored you that much, you probably won't be interested in the rest of it. I would suggest episode 4 as the deciding factor, however.

Greetings /a/. Whats some other anime with good cop/detective pairings in them. The anime themselves dont need to be a crime/detective based one but simply have a detective or police support pair.

To save time pics are
Top Left: Leon and Daily from Bubblegum Crisis 2040
Bottom left: Batou and Togusa from Ghost in the Shell
Top Right: Kenichi and Mitsuhiro from Paranoia Agent
Bottom Right: Gotou and Shinobu from Patlabor

I'm watching Psycho-Pass. I'm not sure if it will qualify for your list, as the relationships are still developing, but few police procedurals reduce the criminal to cloud of gore and call it a day.

I also liked Hyper Police, but the relationships in that are more comedy than bromance

Finish GTO first, Shonan Junai Gumi is separate and 14 Days has to do with the GTO years. Or at least just read the description and decide for your self I guess.

I heard a few opinions, sounded shit,
I read the plot, seemed shallow and shit,
Watched a few episodes, completely and utterly hooked?

Turns out it's quite good, and yes, I do want more.

Considering that the second season is confirmed and will start airing in January....supposedly....I am ectastic about a second season.
As long as it doesn't wind up lame, and rushed, a la Baka To Test or Ika Musume. But if it works as well as say, Working!S2, I will be happy.

I do wonder why people only see the fanservice and get turned off though. True, it does exist, but if anyone thinks it important to the stories, then this is a shallow reason not to view. But to each their own.
With the alternate plots, especially the telling from the standpoint of Meat finding Kodaka first, I am wondering if "Next" (apparently the working title) might bealong those lines.
In any regard, this has become one of my favorite series, that I have re-watched over a few times, and seeing that there's more to come?

Hell yes!

Moar Rika is always a good thing.

am I kawaai uggu?

... in all seriousness it's one of the best anime' I have ever watched. It's simlar to puella magica madoka in the sense that it starts out as something typical and then begins to get dark. I thought it was just going to be a silly but entertaining lolrandum anime but then shit starts getting... 'dark' as it explores the characters and begins to explain why they act the way they do. Episode 19 stunned me, I haven't been effected so much by a piece of media in quite some time. I don't want to ruin it for anyone planning on watching the show but it literally left me feeling giddy. It is much more effective than madoka because the dark aspect of the anime is based on real life shit as opposed to lolaliens milking teenage girls of their emotions for a power source. Also the comedy aspect remains in the series despite the gradual progression into the issues each character has, making the bad moments all the more effective as the silliness lowers your guard. There are alot of episodes, and to it's credit I have burned through 19 of them in a couple of days... and still do not feel bored of this show. I get tired of most anime pretty quickly unless it is exceptional so that is another personal endorsement.

Huh. Well, that's certainly beyond my expectations. However, whenever I hear someone talk about an anime and they mention "comedy" it usually raises a red flag in my head. Are the jokes substantial or is it just gags, obscure parody, and exaggeration?

So hey, new to anime, I watched a anime recently called Rin: Daughters of mnemosyne and it was awesome, disturbing, gory and cruel, now after that I watched elfen lied and bible black, bible black was a straight porno, so no props on that but I'm looking for something really disturbing to watch similar to Rin, any ideas/suggestions? It's got to have some gore/nudity in it.

I really liked to first 4 episodes of Mnemosyne, they were really well done from a scifi fan point of view. Then 5 & 6... what the fuck am I watching?

If you want random nudity, I just watched Agent Aika, it's an ecchi anime. Probably not disturbing enough for you though.

Sweet. Thankyewverramuch! I made that request at work, and for some reason, I had a feeling someone out there could supply thusly. Much appreciated.

Okay, after a long day & night of attempting to get work accomplished, I decided to continue my re-watch of this series. And there's something I noticed about this show that hasn't been brought up, as far as I know. You wanna check the tropes page, go ahead.

But there's something else about this series...it's part travelogue. The latter parts of episodes have the girls traveling to different areas, and something starts the train-of-thought punfest.

Okay, so you won't learn a whole lot, but it has it's moments of inquiry. So yeah, beware, you might learn something. And Kumeta apparently likes referential humor. A lot. I think he lives for it.

Frankly, I'm wondering what's next from him.

Nope, no animation this time, but considering the poster, er, more than slightly relevant.
