As usual, I find my way into series sometimes due to commentary. This show for instance, OniiChanDamnThisTitleGoesOnForever.
By what y'all said, and the OP's pic (I thought it was something K-Yawnish) showed, for some reason it drew me in. Maybe I dig trainwrecks-I dunno. I WAS going to skip this series, but I'm 4 eps in.......and I'm finishing this one.

If you could handle or possibly even enjoyed things like Demon King Daimou, Oreiemo, or what this seems most like--Ladies Vs. Butlers, you might enjoy this. I didn't think I would, but it's a bunch of ecchi fun.

Even though Anastasia reminds me a buttload of Korone from Demon King Daimou, when I found out it was Minori Chiara, all the better.

I might be the only regular here who's still watching, but glad you folks talked me into this.

Gunnm is a good manga and is ongoing around 30 volumes I think. The OVA is pretty short and doesn't cover much. It suffers from lack of characters and gets stuck in meaningless fighting for long stretches but the art itself is some of the best there is. Blue balls description is apt as I don't think there is any fan service at all.

I'd forgotten about Cameron wanting to make a film, it's already been years.

The shift in colour palette between old and current HxH was something that I for one could look past, with a little effort mind you, but the difference was just too much in the recent showdown between the Zlodycks and supaidamang. Did anyone else find that to be hideously garish? God damn purple snake.

Eh, the Nen stuff in general is garish and especially dumbed down for kids. I don't especially mind them naming the hatsu, but the thing where they pause the screen and show the name of it in dramatic text is just laughably silly. And it does make me laugh, everytime.

It's just another thing that totally rapes my suspension of disbelief and reminds me that I'm watching a children's cartoon. With the old anime, that rarely happened; I'd get absorbed deep into the story and sometimes feel as if this could really have happened, somewhere on the other side of the world.

(Also, WTF happened to the scene where Zeno went up to the roof and used his En to force Kuroro to the basement? That was one of the most badass parts of the episode in the old anime. We'd just seen Nobounaga extend his En to like three feet, and then this old fart extends his to 100 mind-blowing meters! They TALKED about him doing it, but he never actually SHOWED it. Why?)

I guess that scene was just another casualty in the head-first charge of whoever it is that's speeding the plot towards each landmark "Good bit." I hope it slows down the pace when it gets to the new content.

Touhou's a shooter at heart; VNs aren't very interactive (hence why they technically aren't games), are mainly influenced by anime tropes, and sure as hell /vg/ doesn't want to talk about them, so I don't see any reason they couldn't be over here.

Yes, they clearly said that he was a human in the last episode. The thing is, just because he's not constricted by the rational limitations that contractors usually have, doesn't mean he isn't one.

Mind you, the characters that were involved in that whole conversation knew as much as we do. Except for February, but she's a cunt and never tells us anything important.

It's actually really good. Or rather, I really enjoyed it. The only reason I disliked Season 2 was because Hei lost his powers. If Hei kept his powers AND we got to see a loli wielding a anti-tank rifle all in the same battle scene, it would have been 20 times better.

It has been for ages

But continuing to watch it, I find it hard to believe that the writers of episode 1were the same as those of the following episodes. One by one, I'm counting my way up to 10,000.

This is how I felt. I saw the first two episodes and they were perfect. It got steadily worse afterwards.

the show would have been much better if it just did the story line linearly. The non linear aspect didn't really add anything to the show at all, except that it made some episodes that happened to be next to each other feel repetitive (like episode 8 and 9). It would have had much better pacing if it was just done normally.
The show was hit and miss a lot of the time, but ultimately it has some moments of sheer brilliance that make the show definitely worth watching. The last arch is pretty great too.

I should add that I don't mean Japanese people are running around bopping each other with inflatable hammers or anything. I'm sure their humor is observational/sarcastic like ours in western countries. The media though from game shows to anime seems to favor physical humor over the "fast exchange of witty remarks" American humor or ironic/subtle British humor.
