best advice: don't pet her "overhand" until she gets used to her living area. Right now her senses are over stimulated. Her instinct is trying to sort out what is trying to play, and what is trying to kill her (default). When she sits down on you, then pet her overhand, otherwise just let her rub on your leg. Try making a fist and looking "through" it as she approaches. She will associate your fist with a cat's head size, and if she sees your eyes at the same angle it's even better.
Sounds weird, but makes friends. Pic is my cat on his back asleep. He knows the sound of my car and waits to see me. Even if his dish is full, he walks with me to check the mail, and he'll jump in my lap when I'm trying to get out of my car.
