back in the 90s there was something about the web that is ethereal to me now.

today the clear web is too much like irl

so i'm leaving the beach

i'll poke around the clear chans and news sites, and greatly use the hulus, xboxes, blah blah ... but otherwise i will surf with the sharks

in 2019 ill come back and take a one day survey of the coast

what does anon think will be unexpected to see that day?

Your life being a complete waste, but that observation and realisation will only be unexpected for one person.

>>778052 - thanks for pointing my overweening
>>778055 - the clear net has become numbing

it occurs to me now that being discontented with the clear web doesn't necessarily mean it should be swapped out for more internet.

shit, maybe i'll read books, exercise, paint, make home improvements, improve my professional standing, masturbate to print media... those sorts of things i did before 1996

I always thought the internet experience closely mirrored the real-life experience except instead of driving to the ghetto to get your drugs and weird people you just sit in a comfortable room and reflect quietly on the fact that, despite a well-functioning virile body, you still prefer to interact with the outside world through a screen

>>778099 - I know, right. I don't look forward to rifling through 1/2 price books trying to find porn created within this century. The struggle is real.

Or. OR

Instead of doing away with the internet which is impossible for someone as LOW CLASS as you, just simply budget it.

Only use the internet while shitting or otherwise completely bored. If there is someone in the room or something to do that could potentially leave you entertained, do that instead.

people want to sit and be entertained but making up your own jokes is always more rewarding and fun.

Every good internet meme was born of one anon laughing all by himself, posting his pun unconcerned with what other people would think about it.

trying to photoshop something and failing cause its so funny that laughter displaces any physical coordination that you might have had is really really fun. i do it as often as i can, been at it for years and it hasn't gotten old yet.

Yeah. I get this feeling too. I get that "90s internet" feel when I browse i2p or Tor "dark" web. Just with slightly faster speeds.

It's not much different than being locked up. I was locked up for a year. Come back, half the sites I use don't work. Catching up on new events (since I don't watch TV much, even in a cell, and even then legacy media misses a lot of shit). A bunch of new, stupid internet lingo that seems like a 13 year old came up with.

Lets face it. Life just sucks and kids are stupid.

i like that description. difference for me, and a lot of other people i bet, is i don't act like i behave much different in irl like i do on the net....

wait that is pretty much what you were saying, right?

i hate myself

member when you could "hack" servers by plugging in common default admin account name and pass combinations?

Met-Art's admin account/pass was admin/password. i think that was the first time i herniated a disc from marathon fapping

The good news is, thanks to lazy Chinese programmers, admin/admin and admin/password is all the (hard coded, can't be changed) rage for IoT devices.
