This shall be the thread for discussing the more portable form of tobacco indulgence, cigarettes. They may not quite have the bourgeoisie connotation or that level of taste as cigars but I still feel it is a valid discussion.
I used to partake in the Marlboro brand, though recently have taken a liking to Winstons. They seems to bring a longer-lasting period of satisfaction, something I appreciate.
Of visitors to this well-cultured board, what do you enjoy?
Cigarettes are for the´workingclass
A decent pipe is the only way to go
I personally enjoy a good pipe of tobacco, or a smooth cigar for my tobacco leaf indulgence.
Well I must say I still tend to smoke Marl Lights as they are easier going to smoke however I have started on Richmonds. Now before you start, they are the only brand I can see that offers a Super King size, and i'm afraid Super Kings are just lovely to hold and smoke. They last longer and if you're tall, just look right.
if you ever come across dunhill cigarettes they are pretty good but it still stands that cigarettes are a habit thing. if you want something to actually enjoy you have to move to pipes or cigars.
im a pipe man personally...
Personally I don't smoke. But if one such as I were ever to pick up such habits, I would have trouble picking between a decent cigars or fashion myself a pipe to indulge with the leaves. I believe true gentlemen should have no expense for everyday pleasures.
I personally don't smoke that much any more. I used to be a smoker and smoked Marlboro reds. Over the years, I've become more and more accustomed to cigars and if I get the urge to smoke i usually go to the gas station and pick up a cheap pack of cigarillos instead of cigarettes now... However, I do "chew" Copenhagen Wintergreen
Back after 80 years for no good reason except they taste good.
I think you're looking for /whitetrash/.
the only classy choice for the gentlemen on the go are tiny cigars, and i dont mean shitty primetimes or black and milds. if youre interested go to your local pipe shop they should have a cigar room
I say, if you must use a ground or cut form, do invest in a quality sunff. A gentleman does not spit.
You are all doing it wrong. Nat Sherman IS the classy cigarette. All natural, made in New York, and part of one of the oldest family-owned tobacco companies in the world, which also makes fantastic cigars. Can't say that about any of the aforementioned cigs.
The only class smokables are Cubans, and only because they require impoverished children to transport them across embargo lines in their rectums.
This. If I can't find Nat's I'll pick Kamel Reds. If i can't find Reds, I'll just grab American Spirit Perique blends.
I enjoy the blue Winston variety, like the Original Poster I too have tried Marlboro, and I have also gone through more brands only to return to Winston.
benson and hedges anyday
Cigarettes are for the poor and lack the proper fragrance and class to be considered worthwhile.
There are few exceptions, however Marlboro and Winston are not them.
If a gentleman so desires portability, then proper cigarillos should be his forte. Romeo y Julieta makes a few different kinds of small cigars, all of which are of considerably higher quality than your average cigarette.
A despicable practice. Chewing is an exercise performed by the most lowly of reprobates.
On a less disdainful note, I feel that, due to the pain-staking research that has been applied to the subject of tobacco and cigarette smoking, the only responsible and gentlemanly thing to do is to refrain from the inhaling of cigarettes and to treat yourself to the occasional cigar.
I allow myself to smoke a Cuban Cigar every two weeks. I also take the time to compliment my cigar with a product derived from the extraction of a purified form of THC from the cannabis plant. Laymen and ruffians are prone to call it "Hash".
This is the gentlemanly way. Cigarettes are products for the dependent and weak of will.
I occasionally enjoy an unfiltered cigarette once in a while.
Though I would like to buy a cigarette case and start rolling my own to explore different kinds of tobacco.
They call it this because they are too lazy to pronounce the second syllable of 'hashish'.
I once decided to take up smoking to battle my severe stress at the time, i found it didn't help and that I could not be bothered getting addicted
I roll my own cigarettes when the need arises. There is no particular tobacco I've come across which has tickled my fancy quite enough to consider a regular purchase, so I am currently trying out all that is available in my area of residence in order to find the most enjoyable for me.
I must say, I believe that to roll one's own cigarette is far more gentlemanly and I am disappointed by the unfavourable reputation this activity has garnered.
When it comes to cigarettes the finest (In my opinion) is Camel Turkish Royals. Super smooth with a dusting of white cocoa.
I roll my own for the most part with Bacco brand full flavor tobacco and I use Gambler: Tube cut filter tubes. Most cigarette smokers disapprove of the flavor and boldness while those who enjoy cigars enjoy my smokes quite well.
If I don't have time, or am feeling a tad lethargic, I will buy a pack of Pall Mall Reds; they truly do "Last Longer".
Though, when I'm in attendance of a grand ball, banquet or some formality of the sort, I'll sport a pack of Nat Sherman's Black and Gold. Immense flavor but, if I'm going to be honest, I wish it was much more bold. None-the-less, all smoke is smoke when the wine takes hold of you ;)
I must admit that my taste in cigarettes are not something to be astonished with. Camel lights for the more common and spur of the moments.
However, whenever I feel like indulging in a little more flavor I prefer American Spirits. The highly packed natural tobacco has a flavor that I enjoy during the extra minutes of enjoyment.
I love camel reds, but my all time favourite is no longer being sold in the US as far as i know, they were wonderful! Davidoff Cigarettes, i still sometimes import them from Moldova, because if you order a couple cartons its only like 3.50 a pack. Very smooth and delicious. Even the menthols are great, and im not a mentholer.
I like Nat shermans, usually though I smoke camel menthol.
you plebeians have no taste, smoking anything other then a 1/8 blunt is for the poor.
The most enjoyable cigarette brand is Nil for me but if they don't have those, I just buy L&M
I used to smoke this strong ones they sell in here. Happily I could quit the nasty habit.
This very same morning actually.
I favor Marlboro cigarettes than 305s, but this motherfucka here, is even better! God gotta love these.
Rather than using da pipes, I'd prefer the Marlboro cigarettes (Hence the name of the enemy in Final fantasy)
This chap knows his smokes!
Ah yes, good ol' Djarums. Though not a habitual smoker, i am one to fancy myself a pack or two when i see these sold in a liquor store or the such.
Peter Jackson, Red - King Sized have always been my choice of smoke. American's may not recognize the brand, but it's from your northern neighbors country.
Occasionally, when my throat feels dry or irritated, I temporarily switch to the Peter Jackson, Blue - Reg. size because of its milder smoke.

Hand-rolled cigarettes are the only viable option for classy gentlemen like us.
>Bali Shag has a fine rich flavor, slightly bitter.
Should one have access to fine quality tobacco and unrefined rolling papers, rolling would be ideal. However, for those who have no time to spend dabbling in the art, I'd recommend a packet of filtered Camels, or perhaps Benson & Hedges for the 'manlier' man.
Hear, hear! Rolling opens up a world of opportunity to enjoying tobacco, not to mention the easily addition of cannabis makes for a wonderful experience.
Ah, these little black beauties are nothing short of delicious. While they tend to be thick in terms of smoke, smoking these is nothing short of smoking candy.
This being the first I have heard of Djarum Blacks, I am now rather eager to try them for myself based off of all of the praise that has been lavished by these fine gentlemen.
Well at the moment I am enjoying a self rolled Samson. I have narrowed my choises down over the years to three brands:
Also I have two ways I quite like to smoke, either the french inhale which gives a whole new flavour dimmension to the cigaret, or inhaling whilst holding the cigaret in one's mouth so the second hand smoke enters aswell for a rougher flavour.
$5 a pack
The Pall Mall slogan is: "Wherever Particular People Congregate"
There is Latin writing on the package:
"Per aspera ad Astra" ("Through [the] thorns to the stars")
"In hoc signo vinces" ("By this sign shall you conquer")
Kurt Vonnegut smoked Pall Malls (sans filters).
Gentlemen, well done. I would also like to add pic related to the list.
Although, like others, my overall preference is for pipe tobacco.
You sir should find a better cigarette. Winston happens to be my real name and this cigarette band name reduces my class level by over 9000.
Uttering that phrase alone decimated what little class you had to begin with.
