Let me ask you an earnest question, sophisticated gentlemen. What is your favourite instrument for smashing class society and other general government overthrowing? I'm quite partial to Madame Guillotine myself, but I'm ever so keen to know which options your esteemed sirs prefer.

Greetings sir, But sir your approach is too direct. I am rather partial to catapulting plague infected dead bodies over castle walls myself.

ah! a fellow enthusiast of biological warfare, i like that!

>>
Sophisticated Gentleman 12/05/12(Sat)20:57 No. 794

I am a passionate proponent of the rifle, preferably in .30 caliber, although there are many fine rifles chambered for cartridges in ~.20 and .45 caliber. Suitable for defense, assaults, executions, bayonet charges and all nature of related activities. Some might say the pistol is more sophisticated, and they might be right, but nevertheless every man of worth should be able to handle almost any rifle with proficiency.

Of course, if I were asked to say which instrument was most effective in smashing outdated class structures and dismantling governments which have outlived their purpose, I would have no choice but to say the pen, the printing press and the telecommunications networks. Without these tools, any kind of significant social change is simply unlikely to occur.

In the outstanding Texas fashion, I enjoy demolishing an enemy's skull with a winchester 1912, though since they're more likely to threaten me at my doorstep, i'm more liable to threaten them with a revolver, shoot them in the leg, then knock them out with it's butt, call the police, and then be ready with the shotgun until the police come to pick them up

To be quite honest, my fellow men of class, I prefer a nice crucifixion. Classic, effective, and public.

Whilst I agree entirely with sir 794's closing statement, as far as literal weapons of the common man I am quite partial to the hand crafted firebomb commonly known as a 'Molotov Cocktail' for its uncanny ability to cause mayhem and damage to well defended troops and property entirely disproportionate to its cost and difficulty of procurement. Truly a tool of the oppressed masses.

All due respect to the Madame, but history shows the single most effective weapon to topple regimes is that developed by the good mister Gutenberg. The others mentioned in this thread have their uses, but central to any effort, as Gutenberg's press shows, is a simple and effective means of mass communication, information, and education.

I would like to suggest hot tar and loose feathers, the go-to materials of the early American gentlemen. This might seem to be an old-fashioned method to convey the outrage of the modern citizen, but should drive home a point in a somewhat non-lethal manner.

I'm afraid, good sir, that tarring and feathering can quite easily become lethal. The earliest references to it involve a tar that quite certainly would be fatal when applied hot, and even lower temperature tars can cause severe burns.

I wouldn't messy my hands with all that blood. No. I'd splash a glass of wine in their face, set them aflame with a lit cigarette, and then walk away.

Unfortunately our stock of moonshine has been depleted by our attempt to placate the workforce. May I suggest that I fashion a distillation apparatus and refine some house red into an inflammable liquid? You may also require a lit match rather than a cigarette to ensure a healthy conflagration.
