Anyone here ever heard of Wakfu?
To those who don't know, Wakfu is a French anime-esque cartoon which takes place in a rich fantasy world. Its first season concerns a boy, supposedly the last of his kind, and his connection to the dragons. The dragons have been missing since the dawn of time, and many consider them to be mere legend. In his travels he meets Ruel (a spry and greedy old man), Amalia (an uptight princess), Sadlygrove (an idiot), and Evangelyne (an elf). Together they must defeat the time mage known as Nox.

While most of the first half of the first season is filler which has no bearing on the plot in any way whatsoever, the second half is where it really kicks off. Contrary to those of you who hold a bias against generic fantasy stories, I assure you that it does get better. Their travels actually lead them through a series of defeats at the hands of Nox. Honestly, I believe that Nox is easily one of my favorite villains of all time, he's not just your run of the mill antagonist.

If you haven't seen this show, give it a shot. There's a series of comics and what-not, and almost all of them are good. You can download here.

I do love this series. You probably should have mentioned that it's a video game first though, and sequel to the already great doofus.

Yeah, that probably would have been good. But I'm pretty sure that the Wakfu game came out after the show.

I haven't read the Dofus comics yet because they haven't been translated at this time. Whether or not they will get translated is still up in the air.
