It annoys me when a person won't use a contraction for one word but will use an informal contraction elsewhere in the sentence.

John Smith 16/12/15(Thu)12:25 No. 45762

I, absolutely, despise when people do not use commas correctly and then turn around and say that their usage is correct, John.

John Smith 16/12/16(Fri)01:13 No. 45764

I have no strong feelings one way or the other, John.

John Smith 16/12/17(Sat)01:56 No. 45773

Then be the change you want to see in the world, my dear John.

John Smith 16/12/17(Sat)09:37 No. 45774

Contractions can be very dangerous. That's why it's very important to wash your hands regularly and not come to work when you are sick.

Yours Truly,

I can handle apostrophes missing from where they should be, but can't forgive the use of an apostrophe where there shouldn't be one.

In my apartment lobby we have a note saying "Key's found. Contact 187." I feel like one day I will tear it down so I don't have to look at it everytime I get the post. I won't feel bad doing it because they keys would have either been claimed by now or forgotten completely.

John Smith 17/02/01(Wed)08:58 No. 45863

There's no need to get mad about what is known as the greengrocer's apostrophe. In fact, those are becoming harder to find, so the rare instances when you do see them seem all the more quaint and amusing.

John Smith 17/02/01(Wed)19:41 No. 45864

John, it's grammatically incorrect. I stand with other John, but only in the sense of mild annoyance at seeing it misused.

John Smith 17/02/06(Mon)00:55 No. 45879

Tell me /eh/ - how do you feed about the Oxford comma?

After learning of the Oxford comma, and the mild controversy surrounding it, I decided that I like it. I use it when appropriate.

John Smith 17/04/27(Thu)15:00 No. 46017

Dear John
I find it quite useful and I use it when applicable

Who gives a fuck about an Oxford comma?
I've seen those English dramas too
They're cruel
So if there's any other way
To spell the word
It's fine with me, with me
