I was forced to sit on the other side of the bus today as my usual set was taken. I the same street but through a different window, it felt like taking a new bus down the same road. I don't want this to happen again.

yours sincerely

Why don't you want this to happen John?

I know how you feel, when I shop I park at the intersection directly across from the front door. It is a nice convergence of the cart rack with a moderate but comfortable walk. I don't know what I would do if someone took my spot

Hello John

My office has no set assigned desks but for the last year I've been the only one sitting at a particular desk. A new employee has started sitting at the desk I prefer. Could this be a similar feeling?

John Smith 17/07/20(Thu)16:52 No. 46144

It seems to be, yes.

John Smith 17/07/22(Sat)20:31 No. 46149

I'm curious as to how a workplace could have unassigned desks.

However, I would take a guess that these events are worse than having to sit on the opposite side of the bus, because maybe the offender won't be on that bus at the same time the next day. At the workplace, you know that person is going to be there on their assigned days.

When I have the option to choose a location (parking, seats, anything), I always make sure to pick one that I think most people would find inconvenient. That way, there is a less chance of someone breaking my routine.

I want to apologize for the late reply, the nature of my office is the world of car sales which not only has kept me busy, but may explain why desks are not assigned. The turnover in my business is worse than most so the employee side of things are rather uncaring. That said I am coming up on my second year of employment so the less tenured salespeople who have been there for any amount of time are fine thinking, "oh yeah, that's johns desk".

hey John

How goes the employment?

John Smith 17/09/14(Thu)04:28 No. 46202

Good evening John

It is generally pretty good for me. I had one of my best months last month, though unfortunately it was only in gross profit and not in overall units moved. Normally this would be fine but As I am one of the most tenured this has my General manager convinced I'm simply being lazy. I've learned that Ignoring the verbal beatings of a madman makes life a little easier though.

If you've ever wanted an truly unique employment experience you should try Sales, though I suggest having some money already set aside for the hard times.

Good Morning John

I see what you are saying here. I am but a lowly cashier living with his parents, I see many people leave and go. I feel comfortable the way it is now. Thank you anyways.

Hey John

As long as you feel good about it then that's what counts. I actually made a career change since I last wrote you, so now I am handling marketing for another dealership. My desk is no longer a shared one so I am happy with the current arrangements.

John Smith 17/11/12(Sun)12:11 No. 46267

Good Evening John

That's good to hear, not much changed on my end. The store is running out of supervises but they never promote me to that position but it is alright.

John Smith 17/11/12(Sun)21:32 No. 46268

Hello again John

I think if you were ever given that position you'd find it not worth the hassle anyways. Supervisors are often not given much of a pay increase in comparison to their increased responsibilities. That said my new job has less pay but also less hours so as long as I can pay my bills I'm happy to have more time to pursue personal interests.

Long time no see John

I know about that, my entire family has been a supervisor at one point in their lives but I have been there for so many years and all the new supervisors just leave after a few months it just feels like a waste.

I hope things are finding you well john

It is something else looking back on a conversation lasting several months to think about how one felt at the time and how they feel about it looking back. My own job transition wasn't as smooth as I'd like with more hours than agreed upon but such is life and I can still pay the bills as we discussed. It all makes me wonder if 10 years from now I'll have found a job I am happy to call home and feel loyal to or not.

Overthinking things as always

Sometimes the seats aren't even the problem

The roads in my town are all torn apart from construction. Sad, really, it's the same road but now it is different.

If you want the same seat, start placing tacks on it when you leave

John Smith 17/12/30(Sat)16:59 No. 46349

To John

It would be nice if we can look back on 10 years if 7chan would survive that.

That's terrible John.

Best of wishes
