Best software choice? Tr3D!L1nIaF9dSQ 13/02/28(Thu)02:23 No. 20045 ID: 5bfe97

I'be wanted to try my hand at audio editing/creation, but I've been shitting around, and not really focusing.

But now that I'm in college, there's nothing but time.

Essentially, I'm asking anon's opinion on good editing software. Preferably, free, but anything is good.

Help me out Anon, this is my last chance to prove to myself that I can do this.

If you want something free, there exist a bunch of (free) Linux distributions for working with audio. I can't say if they are any good, as I never worked with that. If you aren't comfortable with installing a new OS just for that, you can use it in a virtual machine like VMWare, Virtual PC or VirtualBox.

Try Reaper ( http://www.reaper.fm/) - it is free to trial, has no expiration, and is dirt cheep when you make it big time.

Oh and it's fucking awsome too.

Reaper is by far the best "free" choice, though I'm a Cubase fan myself. Haven't used Pro Tools for years and dislike Abelton (though I'm sure it's great for dance stuff).
