Hello, I'm looking into some of the war crimes committed by American soldiers in WWII, specifically the Pacific Front. You know, skull skewing, rape, mass murder, all that stuff.

How did the military handle all of these actions? They couldn't have possibly covered up all of this, right?

Cult: A power hierarchy where one human being is elevated to superhuman, often supernatural status, and worshipped by subjects.

If you are a Christian, you are a follower in the cult of Jesus. ...and if you keep reading, the cult of the Christs, the cult of Abraham, the cult of mythra, the cult of akhenaten, the cults of many many many real world people elevated to god status by legend, plus the cult of isis, the cult of set, the cult of lucifer, the cult of pan, and many many more abstract anthropomorphizations of things natural and imagined.

The root word of Culture is cult.

Why is it that "good science" only comes from a handful of places, that receive funding from conservative political groups, while "bad science" comes from everyplace else in the known universe?

Must be some vast conspiracy. Why just the other day I heard one of those bad scientists tell someone on TV that the earth revolved around the sun. That's darksider talk.

Because he's a conservative in name only. In reality he's just a little man who's afraid of everything. Change scares him. Black men scare him. Foreigners scare him. Objective reasoning scares him. It's why he spoons an assault rifle every night.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Climate_change_denial

Peter Christoff, writing in The Age (2007), said that climate change denial differs from skepticism, which is essential for good science. He went on to say that "almost two decades after the issue became one of global concern, the 'big' debate over climate change is over. There are now no credible scientific skeptics challenging the underlying scientific theory, or the broad projections, of climate change." The relationships between industry-funded denial and public climate change skepticism have at times been compared to earlier efforts by the tobacco industry to undermine what is now widely accepted scientific evidence relating to the dangers of secondhand smoke, or even linked as a direct continuation of these earlier financial relationships.

And because you completely fail to grasp the science involved, it must be some vast conspiracy? This isn't a conspiracy son, this is science. The data is available for you to perform your own analysis on. That's how science works. Empirical analysis of data. If you don't believe it, get off your lazy ass and do the analysis yourself.

And, I know this part is going to be hard to believe for someone who relies on Fox News, Drudge, etc. for facts, but there is a right way to analyze data and a wrong way to analyze data. That's why scientists publish their work to be reviewed by peers. Any and all flaws in their analysis will be exposed by their peers, who are every bit an expert in their field as the publishers.

This is why it's so laughable that you choose to believe a tiny handful of industry shills and crackpots. Only a couple have actually published work in this field, and they've had the flaws in their analysis absolutely decimated by peers. The rest don't even bother to publish, and instead just cash those fat checks from corporate donors to show up on right wing media and spread misinformation.

Maybe I should put this in your native tongue? Just because them scientists have book learnin' don't mean they's dumb.

Your current party's mandate is to keep white men in power to the detriment of everyone else. Which is different from Nazis how, exactly?

Yeah, that's why there's not a single Republican-led committee in Congress chaired by a minority. Because Democrats are racist.

The dumbasses even went out of their way to appoint a woman to chair a committee she wasn't even on. Something that hasn't happened in over 100 years. Why? Because only rich old white men were committee chairs and only rich old white men were on the last unassigned committee.

Your entire party's mantra has been to keep rich white men in power. Fuck women, fuck minorities, fuck the poor, fuck the elderly, fuck everyone except the top 10%. That's why you lost.

I assume you paid attention to the news last night? Your party just chose to kick Grover Norquist to the curb instead of kicking grandma & grandpa to the curb. Why the fuck any of you paid attention to that lunatic is beyond me.

You may want to stop a moment and consider your party's efforts to disenfranchise entire generations of minority voters in 2012 before continuing to claim that Democrats, who went to court multiple times fighting your party in order to restore the voting rights of minorities, are racist. You may also want to consider the statements of your party in 2012, when leaders proudly proclaimed that they had intentionally disenfranchised voters.

In 2012 hundreds of thousands of voters were either turned away, forced to drive across town to old voting precincts because Republican-led DMV/SoS had failed to update their voter registration when updating the rest of their state records with their new address (in violation of federal law - one of the regulations Republicans have been pushing to repeal for "fiscal" reasons), and/or forced voters to sit in line for up to 8 hours in order to cast their votes. All to prevent voting fraud. Of which there have only been a handful of cases in the past decade. Hundreds of thousands turned away or obstructed... for 1 or 2 fraud cases a year.

Republicans have never paid attention to the founding fathers, unless they can misquote one to further their racist/divisive agenda. "It is better 100 guilty persons should escape than that one innocent person should suffer" is clearly being ignored.

>The more corrupt the state, the more numerous the laws
And yet the entire time Somalia was lawless state, instead of being a paradise, it was a pariah preying on wealth from whatever international sources it could kidnap & steal.

Perhaps you should put the quote into context:
"After Tarquin's expulsion, the people, to check cabals among the Senators, devised many safeguards for freedom and for the establishment of unity. Decemvirs were appointed; everything specially admirable elsewhere was adopted, and the Twelve Tables drawn up, the last specimen of equitable legislation. For subsequent enactments, though occasionally directed against evildoers for some crime, were oftener carried by violence amid class dissensions, with a view to obtain honours not as yet conceded, or to banish distinguished citizens, or for other base ends. Hence the Gracchi and Saturnini, those popular agitators, and Drusus too, as flagrant a corrupter in the Senate's name; hence, the bribing of our allies by alluring promises and the cheating them by tribunes vetoes. Even the Italian and then the Civil war did not pass without the enactment of many conflicting laws, till Lucius Sulla, the Dictator, by the repeal or alteration of past legislation and by many additions, gave us a brief lull in this process, to be instantly followed by the seditious proposals of Lepidus, and soon afterwards by the tribunes recovering their license to excite the people just as they chose. And now bills were passed, not only for national objects but for individual cases, and laws were most numerous when the commonwealth was most corrupt."

If I'm reading him right, Obama is a radical leftist Muslim that was born in Kenya and faked his educational records (in other words, racist envy - a black man went to college and this guy dropped out of high school).

I half suspect nobody can actually be this dense, and he's just paid to spread this bullshit online by one of the many, many billionaires willing to fund disinformation campaigns.

Because, really, if he actually believes the lines of bullshit he's been spewing, why hasn't Obama nationalized the entire oil, power, tech, etc. sectors and lined up supposedly traitorous slime like himself to be shot in front of firing squads? Surely this elaborate fantasy can't hinge on his massive collection of pea-shooters? 22cal bullets fired out of his illegally-modified-to-full-auto "assault rifles" aren't going to penetrate the armor of national guard units sent out to quell his seditious uprising.

I happen to be both robot and ghost. But to be human requires a few extra's to the cells. It's a blurry line, but survivability outside of the uterus is usually a good rule of thumb.

And before you discount it as arbitrary, think of the fact that we kill and eat animals like pigs, even though they have the capacity for suffering and intellect of a toddler.

That tells you that the question isn't so much, can it feel pain or is it conscious, but how likely is it to develop into a (self-conscious) individual.

If it cannot exist outside of the uterus, its potential for development is not yet autonomous, but dependent on the carrier, who by extension has full power to decide over the entity. As long as the clump of cells cannot exit alone, they are an integral part of the host, who can do with it as she sees fit.

A small number of cells that's incapable of surviving, even with all of medical science involved, vs. trillions of cells capable of surviving on its own. Yeah, it's like they're exactly the same thing, how ever could someone have not seen that. Every time someone treats an infection with antibiotics they're killing more cells than this, yet you're not going to accuse a doctor of murder every time they write a prescription.

But what's next? When a woman miscarries do you carry out a murder investigation? That's what a "personhood" amendment would require. Because when women get raped, they have ways of shutting that whole thing down, so a miscarriage has to be murder. Must have put aspirin between her knees.
