I witnessed a show where families used coupons to reduce their checkout bills by ridiculous amounts.
A girl was shopping for eligible items, they weren't very useful and she was getting huge quantities. The final bill was $680 with all her coupons she reduced it to $27. For the quantity of crap she had that's outrageous, she could start her own shop.

How did she get those coupons? Aren't they one per customer or something? If you know tell me of the weirding ways of the coupon clippers.

Retail worker here. We call people like that "coupon nazis." as long as you aren't a bitch about it (like most of the people on the show you watched), cashiers wont hate you. You can normally get them from the Sunday newspaper and websites that offer print-off ones. I've seen people buy newspapers in bulk because, hell, you can find $3 off coupons for trashbags or other shit in them. It's worth the $1.25 per paper.
Also, take advantage of digital coupons some stores are offering now. Dollar General has one where you load coupons on your account and use your cellphone number as an ID at the pinpad to use it. They offer $5 off $25+ (sometimes $30 during the fall) coupons on saturdays. You can either get one by making a purchase on any day before Saturday (it'll print on any receipt), or through the digital coupons. I should also note that sometimes these digital coupons stack with physical coupons. You can sometimes get away with using one-per-customer ones if you just don't mention the digital coupons and give the cashier the physical ones after running the digital ones.
Meijer's offers a similar digital coupon system called MPerks, though I haven't tried it yet, so I'm not too sure how it works.

When I worked at Jewel, I actually saw a person start making money with the coupons she used. Which meant the manager came and asked her to leave. So don't go over board with it.

You can use a limit of usually 10 dollars off and then the cashier will have to manually allow it. I remember there used to be coupon generator threads on /b/ but then they died out. Don't know why I miss those.
