Upload a file or let me know were a detail step by step can be found I will give it a crack. I have tried doing a web search, but those led me to some that when I tried failed to work. That also included a few de-watermark program that did not go well.

Can anyone speak definitively about non-Paizo pdfs and what works for de-watermarking? With actual information or links, not just snarky comments.

I agree 100% - there is no need for snarky comments. We're all rpg'ers in here. As far as de-watermarking goes, I'm pretty sure there are a small few who exist who do know how to get it done right. Here's a guide I have for all who are interested, though I think it's probably not up to date with current security practices. However, it may be helpful to remove those pesky and glaring watermarks on your purchased pdf's for your own use. I dunno - check it out.

Really? The pdf's creator is not listed in it. Secondly, I put it up - that link was mine. Third, I found that pdf on the net. I'm sure if I can find it so can anybody else.

Additionally, as I stated, I'm sure that it won't work with current security practices, BUT, as stated, would be great for removing any VISIBLE watermarks on your own pdf's for your own use.

They can't put them back in, but they CAN make them more difficult to remove. That's why you don't talk about stuff in public. I'm happy to share what I know, but won't do it publicly or with someone I don't know.

I don't believe that it is illegal to remove the watermarks from your own purchased ebooks. Watermarks are just plain straight up ugly. You may edit or do whatever you wish to your book - it's yours. The problem is in DISTRIBUTING said book\s.

It IS illegal to distribute them with OR without watermarks.

I would just like to repeat what I stated earlier - I was only trying to help out those who wanted to remove VISIBLE watermarks from their own pdf's, because the method used there certainly would NOT prevent Paizo (or any other company) from tracking them. It was merely for the purpose of "ugly watermark" removal. Nothing more, and nothing less.

And finally, there is absolutely nothing wrong with supporting the publisher\s of the game of your choice by actually purchasing their works.

In the end, I think that people who are downloading pdf's are most likely "collecting". With the wealth of material that's out there, I seriously doubt that most people put to use 95% of the material they DL - they just like to "collect".

I've already seen two statements about legalities in this discussion so far that are directly contradictory to copyright laws in the United States as they currently stand. Everyone knows what they're doing in this threat is illegal, whether or not they justify it to themselves morally. I would love to see Master the Battle, but I don't know how to remove water-marks beyond using the previously shared javascript. It does seem to remove all *VISABLE* water-marks (so at least my files aren't ugly), but others have noted there are potentially invisible / pixel water-marks in files that come from Pazio's store.

I believe it was Junkker (?) who has helped out someone else on this board with their files, maybe you can ask him/her about removing the H2O blot?

I have always loved the drow in D&D, to include playing drow characters if possible. All this started way back in the early 80s when I was playing a game with an elf character. We decided to randomize all physical character aspects and I wound up with black skin  Since there were no rules for a drow PC the thenn DM and myself looked at the monster manual (were the drow was described) and applied some of the abilities to my PC. Nightshade was her name and she was a F/MU/T (old school here). I had a blast and have always liked using them.

Maybe because a lot of the evil ways are much more descriptive in the things they can do. Too often good is shown with limitations on their actions because of their (good) nature. Evil (or those seen as evil) can kill, maim, torture, or just about anything to anyone (including their own species). Those that are good are usually constrained to hurting bad and killing only really evil things. Mind you I am generalizing here, not stating that this is how it is with all good and evil.

I would not mind seeing a race/class of "angel" that has a bit of the dark-side to kick some righteous butt. Thinking a Batman/Punisher mix hehehe.
