I'm so fat that when I walk to work in the morning and stop to cross the street, I can see my pulse beating in my eyes. I know I need to eat better and get more exercise but I'm too lazy. I don't want to wait until I get the beetus to do something about my fatness but the only gym in the area is eleven miles away and I don't have a car. I feel doomed.

There's no hope until you feel like actually getting exercise.

All you really need to do is get out and walk. Get a fitbit and make a game out of it if that works for you. Play Pokemon Go if that'll work for you. Ride a bike if that works for you.

You need to find some physical activity you enjoy outside the house that you want to do, then do it.

The best motivator for walking somewhere is having a destination. My college years involved lots of walking up and down the streets because I had no car at the time but wanted to be places and do things.

I doubt he has a bike, otherwise he'd probably ride a bike to work every day. It takes less effort than walking, aside from the securing the bike at each end part. Possibly because he didn't secure his bike properly.

I have a bike but it needs to be assembled. After buying the bike I found out that, while I have experience replacing things on a bike, I am too stupid to put one together. A friend of my boss offered to put it together for me but that hasn't happened. I've been anxious to get riding, though. I was big into riding my bike six miles a week but my other bike got thrown away. I miss it.

Six miles out on the bike path and six miles back, I meant. Plus all the actual transport with it every day. It was working, too! I lost fifteen pounds in two months and it felt great. Then it started to snow so I couldn't take my bike out anymore. By the time winter was over, I'd lost my bike.

I trusted someone to store some things when I shouldn't have. My bike was one of those things. And I do have a bike but it needs to be assembled.

day one, walk one block down street, then back.
day 2 double distance.
when you reach a point that you feel you get winded you rest and get your heart rate down, then resume.
day 3 onwards add distance slowly, work your way up to walking a mile, then try for 2 if you have the time. a mile walk to the store, and a mile back is good. have done this before and im over 400lbs

Everyone in here is stupid. 90% of weight loss happens in the kitchen.

Here's how many clories you need in one day:

Eat less than that. 20% is ideal. Yes you will experience side effects like mental fog or fatigue. You could have avoided this by not becoming such a fatass in the first place.

You might get a week into it and decide, fuck this shit. Just know in 2 years (2 years???? of this??!?) You will either be fatter, sadder, and older, or you will be fitter and live longer, with a reduced risk of heart attack and dementia. The day will come, choose where you're going to be standing.

Put your bike together, too. Trial and error, and the gearshift looks hard but everything just slides together, take it to a bike shop to get it adjusted correctly, I don't know how that shit works but they should help you out for free or cheap.

Last thing, love yourself. If you hate yourself for being fat you'll never get rid of it. You are better than this, and you deserve better, and you'll go through the steps to make it better. If your best buddy got beat up, would you fight the guy? Treat yourself the same way, it's not right that you're fat and you have to fix it out of respect. Forgive yourself if it's not going fast enough, or you gain back a few pounds. Think of your body like an infant you have to take care of ( I don't care if you like infants.). Do your best for it, and even if you mess up, do your best for it tomorrow.

Do you understand that the second you look in the mirror you're happy with what you see, baby, you just lost the battle. Not who you are replying to, but I would like to offer a contrary position: someone who exercises does so because they love their body--regardless of what state it is in.

I think this is what divides the people who get fat and recover from the people who get fat and don't. Some people can find it in themselves to give a shit, even if they've fallen way off track, while others just ride the train right into heart failure. The difference is if you can find it in you to care about your physical self or not, no matter what you look like at the moment.
