I suggest you force censorship upon Facebook by not going to it.

Amazing how little you'll care about that site when you aren't emotionally invested in feeding their profit margins.

>emotionally invested in feeding their profit margins
Whenever I hear someone bragging about how they don't use facebook I am reminded that I use it to connect to clients and business partners; how much of my profits are derived from social media interaction, and that everyone I know who has opted out is in a lower economic class than myself--not that I'm happy about that.

It's an absolutely disgusting state of affairs, and an insult to humanity in general, that we must subject ourselves to such commercialization in order to be upwardly mobile--but that's the way it is, and pretending that you are better than other people for not being a part of it is kind of stupid.

And I find it hilarious that you think social media is a replacement for face to face interaction with customers, building actual business relationships which create long-term stable relationships instead of ones that have zero investment from the customer who then feels nothing when deciding whether to switch to a competitor.

Enjoy your rise, for your fall will be equally swift. Remember: You're the one who chose to dehumanize yourself.

Spoken like a true remnant of times long past. Social media is a point of contact, and anyone who takes business seriously will tell you to take advantage of every point of contact at your disposal. That doesn't mean you don't meet your clients face to face. I'll be generous just this once and spell it out for you.

Telephones are out of date. Letters are out of date. Email is out of date. If you want to initiate contact with potential partners or clients in 2017 and onward, and you don't have the fortune to share an acquaintance, you must make contact through social media, even if you meet a random nobody in a bar.

It's not that bad, really. You'd be surprised how easy it is to live with whoring yourself on social media accounts for professional gains. As soon as your social media profile starts to turn a profit your opinion will change, guaranteed.

I'm always surprised when people fail to realize that relationships are the key to a healthy business. Grow your network and you will grow your business. Nothing will save your business if you fail to maintain and grow your interpersonal relationships, which are key to making meaningful new contacts with others interested in what you offer.

Its really not that hard, though those without people skills will resort to tricks like social media to try and cover up their ineptitude. Of course those social media contacts are ridiculously flighty because there's no emotional investment. They don't know you, they don't know anyone who knows you, you're just one of a billion schmoes they've contacted online before moving on to the next schmo.

Hope you're saving what you're making, because you'll need it. Soon.

Sure small time, you just keep thinking that way while other people make money.

Tell you what, I'm feeling generous so I'll give you a hint: Don't use social media to replace personal contact, only to enhance personal contact.

You're on a chan and you think you're not small time?

You're as delusional as you are clueless.
