Personally, if its well done I dont mind it. But to be perfectly fair, I think we should keep it in one thread unless they're particularly lengthy and quality work.
this thread is not. one of these is a blatant trace (of an artist who is accused of blatantly tracing, no less, figure that one out.) I also find it hilarious that the artist doesnt deny it, but calls the person calling it out a troll. such is the case when people are caught in a lie. I mean, if its not the entire artstyle changing, which is done by first timer artists who think nobody will notice the difference in how they draw anatomy, the smoothness of the lines, etcetera. It's like trying to hide an elephant in a herd of cows and expecting nobody to notice.
This isn't deviantart, but at the same time I like seeing our board have original content. Original content of quality content more specifically. What I dont want is the drama that comes with the tarts shitting up my favourite boards.
Given the amount of bitching going on here, especially by the "no artist" of this clearly plagiarized work, threads like these should be nuked on the spot, but I dont see why we couldnt have a little spot tucked away for quality western style works. if they're well done, scanned properly, etc. I've had to explain to one guy twice why his work wasnt allowed here, it was obviously taken from a cellphone, drawn on looseleaf, and the most stupid of all, taken on its side and not corrected.
The art itself was pretty sub-par in and of itself too, but thats not to say that only western style art is like that, ive seen worse amateur work of japanese style artwork as well, I rarely single something out on its art style, ive seen western works i like.
this is not one of them. and to the queers defending this "mia" because other western threads exist? really? there are a total of three images on this page that the artist did, and the only good one is a trace. and the childish remark "but ikubat gets to post his shit"
well, maybe not, we can have a discussion on iku's work later, but i dont see it much of a problem.
tl;dr, threads like these are bullshit. we should do away with them from now on. but a thread or two for quality western work of /ss/ relevance shouldnt be an issue. I'm sick of all these halfassed amateurs posting crummy content, and then getting all upset because their doodle or BLATANT PLAGIARISM was removed or more hilariously, called out.
