I've heard there are pdfs that are printable board games (which I'd consider tabletop). They include the game boards, the pieces, and everything else needed to print and play. I have a ton of cardstock and access to some great printers, but I can't seem to find any of these files except for on ebay, and trying torrents comes up with things like PC versions of the board game. Any ideas/help? Thanks!

Do you mean games that are designed to be print-and-play? If so, there are plenty to be found for free on BoardGameGeek.

Or, as I suspect, do you mean scans of actual boxed games, which are only slightly less rare than rocking horse poo? I have built up a small collection of these (game scans, not poo), but most of the time I have simply come across the files when not actually looking for them - I do not have any tried and trusted method for finding them.

Have you been looking for anything in particular? If so, I may be able to help you out (as long as you don't mind waiting a few days) - I would love 7chan's /tg/ to encompass this area more fully.

Well, for instance, I've found the Ticket to Ride board game, with printable versions of resources, so you literally spend about $2 on cardstock, print a few pages in color, put it together, and you have a game that normally costs $50+. As well, there are card games like Dominion that I've seen some scans of, but never in their entirety. I'd be happy to start scanning and providing printable cards for other deck building games (Resident Evil and Tanto Cuore are two I have) but I was hoping to find some sort of "market" for that before I started.

A big thing is just the desire to playtest some games before dropping money on the actual titles. I found Vassal this afternoon and am trying that out, so that may be enough to do it, but I'd love to have resources for different boxed games (ones not normally print and play) so I could print out the more expensive ones and have a copy to take with me.

Anonymous 11/12/01(Thu)09:53 No. 23302

I have a game that I'm developing and if you'd like to playtest it, its print & play.

I've done a bunch of playtesting myself, so the game is balanced, but I'm trying to make sure the rules and style of the game work for everyone before I start really honing it and counting the win percentage of each faction.

Its a grid based game that uses cards for units and terrain. Its about two factions fighting in an undeground cavern while mining the walls around them. I think its pretty sweet, but I guess thats for you to decide.

Would you be interested?

For the sake of what I'm looking for, I'd say that it's not really what I meant. I'll see if I can post some PDF examples later on.

For the sake of the fact that I do love the chance to try any new games, sure, why not. Maybe we can start a print-and-play game thread?

I'm guessing what you're looking for is something akin to:

BattleTech Quick-Start Rules
http://bg.battletech.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/BattleTechQuick-Start-Rules.pdf
OR
BattleForce Quick-Start Rules

Since they contain everything you need to play in printable format. Don't forget there's nothing stopping YOU creating your own pieces.

Picture related: the few boardgame scans I've collected. My upload speed is ... slow, though, so I would prefer to share only those games in which an interest is specifically shown - I am not sure how appropriate it would be actually to make requests outside the Request Thread however. (Mods: I should be grateful if you would let me know if I am splitting hairs and need to carry this on in the Request Thread.)

I also have card games -- most, but not all, being CCGs -- and a few unsorted files, so feel free to ask if there's something not on the list.

Oh, and I would be happy to expand my collection with any contributions made available by other elegan/tg/entlemen.

I made a forum for my game, and you can download it and discuss it there. Right now I only have two factions released, but I'm sitting on a pile of material I'd like to put into the game.

Please report the games you play on this forum, so I can use the information to make any final minor adjustments to the basic rules of the game before I start releasing all of the factions. Right now its Goblins and Dwarves, but soon there will be dark elves, orcs, survivors(humans and elves), giant ants and alternate versions of dwarves and goblins.

Please don't share the files on the internet, and instead just link people to the forum.

All fixed sorry guys.

I've been posting a lot of card games pretty much just cause they're easier to share. And on that note here's a really easy cheap game, Seven Dragons.

From the Publisher
Seven Dragons is a fast domino-like game, where players attempt to be the first to create a connected territory of seven panels of their dragon. Secret Goals add the opportunity to bluff, and with aggressive Action cards in the mix, subterfuge is a necessity! Seven Dragons features original paintings by Larry Elmore, the greatest dragon artist in the fantasy industry today!

Legions of Steel BGsharer 11/12/24(Sat)23:52 No. 24062
24062

File 132476716783.jpg - (267.87KB , 1024x732 , pic721065_lg.jpg )

Here it is Global Games Legions of Steel.

From BGG:
It is a squad-based tactical game. One player plays the commandos (typically two squads of 4) and the other player plays the machines (typically one "Mark III Assault Fiend" and a horde of 10 nightmares - skeleton like robots). Whereas in Space Hulk where the marines are slow but have ranged weapons, in LOS everyone has ranged weapons. But the commandos are more accurate, particularly at close range. They have leadership points, similar to Space Hulk, and one heavy weapons trooper with a short range but double-die plasma weapon. The Assault Fiend, for the machine player, is an exception. He moves quickly, takes two hits, and only has short-range weapons, but is very deadly. To add an additional differentiation each unit has grenades. Each commando has a force wall grenade (blocks one tile), and a K-pulse grenade (like a frag but low chance of success). The nightmares use "nachtmacher's" which are like super smoke grenades - they create an area of pitch darkness.

While the basic mechanics are similar to Space Hulk - move and shoot, one hit kills - there are some notable differences. Space Hulk, particularly in the later edition, uses a basic rule set. Other than move and shoot, you can also put a marine into "Overwatch" which allows you to take shots at any target that enters your line of sight. In Legions of Steel the rules are slightly more complex. For example, there are several battletech-ish modifiers to be aware of, such as firing through corners or firing after running. You have "Cover Fire" which is simply delaying your firing action to your opponent's turn - and so you only get one shot. You also have "Suppression Fire" which is more like Overwatch in Space Hulk, except it is a constant stream of fire, no risk of jamming, and more effective. You also have more fire options, such as auto-fire vs. burst fire (a basic mathematical evaluation usually identifies a clear favorite).

Includes Rules, Advanced Rules, Alien Source Book, Base Game Scenarios, All Base Game tiles and Expansions, Tokens, And player model tokens if you're missing the Miniatures.

Enjoy and Merry Christmas!

I'd just like to say thank you for upping this stuff, so far I've downloaded some of the smaller games (in megabytes and rules) to play with my non/tg/ friends. Probably print the "Lost Patrol" one first and run that with newer miniatures. Without meaning to samefag too much, played Lost Patrol with a /tg/ bro the other night. It's fun and fairly simple once you get past the small and slighty badly-worded rules booklet, and the way the hex Jungle is generated randomly each game is very cool, along with how it grows, reminiscent of "Predator". We had a go as the Scouts and the "Junglemaster" each, but the jungle won both times. Five scouts against infinite (capped at 18 at once) "Lurkers" was hard, especially with how much of a part luck plays in combat.

Totally reccommend a printout and play though, it's a good little game at around 20 mins and 8mb.

And finally (for now), Car Wars. This is the standalone card game and an interesting addition to the Car Wars portfolio. Game-wise it is reported to be slightly disappointing, but I suspect that this is in comparison to expectations engendered by Car Wars proper. As a simple time-filler, this would seem to be perfectly satisfactory. And it's quite hard to find and a small download, to boot.

Good to see someone else playing it. Unless I've somehow read the rules wrong, it's pretty much impossible to win on the dropship, since you could spawn two Lurkers and add two more twice for your three actions on it, meaning you need at least one +1 from either the sergeant or the heavy covering the tile.

Anonymous 12/01/08(Sun)23:19 No. 24479

>>24469

Yeah, you're right. The odds are very heavily stacked against the Scouts. It's not uncommon (when I've played) for the Scouts not even to reach the dropship.

The Scouts cannot even use the tactic of simply avoiding combat to have the lurkers 'stuck' (i.e. already played) elsewhere on the board, since even moving the lurker stacks will make some available to the player again. So the dropship stand-off situation will result in the Scouts losing about two-thirds of the time, or more often if they cannot use their Sergeant of Heavy Weapons bonuses.

All this makes the game fun in small doses, but frustrating if played too often - for longevity, don't play as the same side if you play more than one game in a row.

Having said all this, when the Scouts win, it feels great!

This iconic game probably needs no introduction to the elegan/tg/entlemen browsing this thread; suffice to say it's a good laugh to play the first few times, even if the humour does become a little stale after prolonged play. Worth checking out if you haven't come across it before.

>>23794 A strategy game that was turned into the very famous computer game

Pay no attention to this fucking idiot. Civilization the board game and Civilization the computer game are/were two very different things. The sad fact that they had the same name is what destroyed Avalon Hill, the premier wargame manufacturer of the time.

Avalon Hill had spotted the original design at a European game convention, bought the rights, made some changes, and published a fairly successful board game which then spawned an expansion known as Advanced Civilization.

A few years later a company called Micropose released a computer game also called Civilization which was something rather different. While there was no link between the two games other than the name, Avalon Hill sued to keep the name Civilization to themselves and they were winning that suit until Hasbro bought out Microprose.

When Hasbro's lawyers looked into the suit, they realized that it would be cheaper to BUY Avalon Hill and shut it down than to pay the damages so that's exactly what they did.

Wow, you sound quite bitter, there. And the way you sound so certain about those events - care to disclose your vested interest?

Apologies if an innocent misunderstanding makes me a fucking idiot, especially since it is arguable that I am at least partly correct. So the computer game was not the official version of the board game, but it was linked in name, theme and Sid Meier's admission that the board game was one of the "ingredients" of the computer game.

You're welcome.

Some more from the GW stable: a couple of old games released as Print and Play - just add dice and (a few) miniatures.

First, Bommerz Over da Sulphur River, a simple game for 1-5 players. "The Imperial reconquest of Rynn’s World was not going well. The 15th Imperial Army under Commissar-General Mordrid Van Horcic had finally broken through the Hellblade mountains after months of fighting against the alien Ork invaders. The battle now spilled into the thousand mile-long Desolation Valley. The Sulphur River that divided Desolation Valley into two halves was impassable
except at a few bridges that remained across it. After more bloody fighting, Imperial Space Marines captured the bridges so that the Imperial forces could continue their attack. Within hours, crude Ork Fighta-Bommerz were hurtling up the valley to try and bomb the vital bridges into oblivion."

"There are two things that all Orks love, a pint of fungus beer and a good punch up! Now both are combined in the Brewhouse Bash game. Will you be the last Ork standing or will you get pounded into the floor by your mates?" For any number of players, but reportedly the more the merrier. Would anyone happen to have any files for the Print and Play Wormhole and/or Guncrawl? or for that matter any of the models that worldworksgames makes?

I have one or two of the expansions to Guncrawl somewhere and have been looking for the full board and rules as well as anything else that WorldWorksGames sells, especially Wormhole.

I can post up the expansion as soon as I find it in my backups. Even if it doesn't have the game rules, the models could easily be used for the Spacehulk, Lost Patrol, and several of the other games workshop boardgames that got posted already.

File 134478778170.jpg - (91.31KB , 500x357 , MageKnight.jpg )

I've been busy and found a fair bit knocking around the Web. So to begin, here's Mage Knight.

From BGG (where it's very highly rated): "The Mage Knight board game puts you in control of one of four powerful Mage Knights as you explore (and conquer) a corner of the Mage Knight universe under the control of the Atlantean Empire. Build your army, fill your deck with powerful spells and actions, explore caves and dungeons, and eventually conquer powerful cities controlled by this once-great faction! In competitive scenarios, opposing players may be powerful allies, but only one will be able to claim the land as their own. In coöperative scenarios, the players win or lose as a group. Solo rules are also included. Combining elements of RPGs, deckbuilding, and traditional board games the Mage Knight board game captures the rich history of the Mage Knight universe in a self-contained gaming experience."

(Very large) scans of the pieces here:

http://www.mediafire.com/?xi3sh72niouho

Get the rules, etc, from the manufacturer's web site, and anything else should be available from BGG.

All right. How about Incursion? A fairly new game (2009) with a legitimately available PDF version. By all accounts, a very good 2-player tactical game - with a Nazi zombie theme!

From BGG again: "INCURSION is set in the world of Secrets of the Third Reich and is the ultimate combination of board game and miniatures game. Armored troopers of the US “Lucky Seventh” and stalwart commandos of the United Kingdom’s MI-13 hurtle through underground bunkers and combat the monstrous forces of the German SWD in a furious race against time. The Doomsday Device is ticking and neither the Allies nor the Axis can fail. This two player game features a tight storyline campaign that culminates in an epic and desperate climax. The game mechanics are simple to grasp allowing players to instantly focus on their tactical options. Game play is incredibly fast-paced and tense and players choose their forces through a card-based Requisition Point system. The game is played on a board with a special card deck and highly detailed 30mm metal miniatures."

The official download page is here:

But it doesn't seem to link to everything that's available. For the rest, check out the root directory at:

And finally for the moment, Thunderstone. Another game with a good rating on BGG, it's described there as "a fantasy deck-building game. Fight the evils of the dungeon to prove your worth. Gain powerful weaponry and level into new and mighty hero classes. Claim the best cards and survive to take the Thunderstone."

It's available legitimately from Alderac's website: "Now for the first time, you can download the heroes, monsters, and village cards from the first Thunderstone set, the one that started it all, absolutely FREE. Download the promo sheet and get started here. These cards are updated to the Thunderstone Advance standard, and the art has been “remastered” for this print and play edition. ... We included the basic decks from Thunderstone Advance as well, so when you download the rules, there’s no confusion. Just print, cut, sleeve, and play."

(Hmm. It looks as though you download a small PDF that has links to the actual files. Just FYI.)

Legend of the Five Rings (Kolat Edition Print and Play) Anonymous 12/08/12(Sun)19:08 No. 32014
32014

File 134479128570.jpg - (74.38KB , 500x346 , l5r.jpg )

Belay that last 'and finally'! It seems that Thunderstone wasn't the first of Alderac's games to be given the free introductory print and play treatment. Legend of the Five Rings was the first, with a time-limited offer that has since expired. But the resources are still available, for now.

From BGG: "A collectible card game, set in a fantasy empire called Rokugan, based loosely upon medieval Japan and Japanese Mythology. The factions available have changed over the editions, but generally include the 7 Great Clans: Crab, Crane, Dragon, Lion, Phoenix, Scorpion, and Unicorn. Each has specific thematic elements, which are consistent across editions and descendant games. The other currently legal factions include the Spider, Mantis, and an unaligned ronin stronghold. The Rokugan setting has been changed over the years by participation in the storyline tournaments for the L5R CCG. Legend of the Five Rings is different from other collectible card games due to the concept of Clan loyalty. The Clans of the game are what you build your deck around, and the communities that have built up around the Crane Clan, Lion Clan, etc are the backbone of the game. I was quite excited to find this. I've heard good things about it, particularly regarding the fun arising from how the real-time play can cause the best laid plan to devolve into chaotic panic!

The description (as usual from BGG): "It's a cooperative team survival game. Players become crew members of a small spaceship scanning dangerous sectors of galaxy. The missions last just 10 real-time minutes (hyperspace jump, sector scan, hyperspace jump back) and the only task the players have is to protect their ship. On 2 CDs (or Scenario cards if you don't have a CD player available) are ten minute long soundtracks that represent central computer announcements about the presence of various threats. These vary from space battleships and interceptors to different interstellar monsters and abominations, asteroids or even intruders and malfunctions on the spaceship. Players have to agree who will take care of which task and coordinate their actions (moving around the ship, firing weapons, distributing energy, using battlebots to deal with intruders, launching guided missiles, etc.) in real time to defend the ship. Only a well-working team can survive 10 minutes and make the jump back to safety. The game offers several difficulty levels, huge variability and a unique experience for one to five player teams. One mission lasts only about 30 minutes, including setup and evaluation."

The following archive contains scans of the cards, etc, as well as the CD tracks!

Everything else should be available from the publisher's website or BoardGameGeek in the usual way.

Sorry, I have not come across scans for either of these games (yet), but for what it's worth, here is the complete list of my sources - an improvement on before, but still small. It may yet be of use to others here. Please add to it if possible:

www.boardgamer.ru/forum/
Fantastic conversions into Russian, with lots of new games covered. Many start with scans of the English versions of games, so with a little bit of help from Google translate, there's gold to be found here.

www.boardgamegeek.com/
If you're in this thread you should already know about this site. It's worth checking the images and files sections for scans or homemade pieces for games in which you are interested. And there are loads of free, print-and-play games intended as such, some of which are as good as commercial games.

http://www.cardgamedb.com/
Has good quality scans for a few card games. A bit laborious to go through getting the scan for each card, but unmatched quality.

http://deskove-hry.110mb.com/?/
I think that this contains a large selection of games converted into Czech print and play versions. There may be a few English scans included in one or two archives, or for games low on text it may not even matter.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/co2awpxwo7tziaa#view:list
I *think* this contains links to the archives for each of the Czech games contained on the previous site.

partidasdepepe.wordpress.com/
A Spanish site that focuses on RPG, but occasionally has other items including boardgames, which sometimes are in English. Worth keeping an eye on.

Obviously try Googling for the game name. Good games, even new ones, tend to have fan sites that often contain a fair bit of stuff that may be useful, and of course the game publisher's site will often have at least the rules to the game.

Demonoid used to have a few torrents featuring good old games, now long out of print. Shame that it's now down. Possibly try searching for torrents elsewhere.

Apologies for the length of this post. I'm not trying to teach anyone's Granny to suck eggs, but hope some find it useful. Anyone with anything to add to this, please do so.

Okay, here's what I've got. From a cursory check, it seems to be as complete as one would expect (i.e. everything but the miniatures and dice). As ever, though, it is worth checking BGG for anything to supplement this archive.

I've never played this, but by most accounts it is a good game. From BGG: "In Doom: The Boardgame, demonic invaders have broken through from another dimension into the Union Aerospace Corporation’s Mars base. Marines have been deployed to the base to protect UAC personnel and destroy the invaders. Up to three players will take the roles of heavily armed and highly trained marines, while one player will control the legion of demonic invaders. In the game, the marine players explore the claustrophobic rooms and corridors of the Mars base, attacking monsters, picking up new weapons and equipment, and working together to complete specific mission objectives."

Here's what I've got for the Expansion Set. It looks to be unrefined scans only (plus a few extras), so some work might need to be done to make it suitable for print-and-play. It comes quite highly rated on BoardGameGeek, though, so the work would probably be worthwhile.

From BGG: "Doom: The Boardgame Expansion Set promises to dramatically expand and improve the basic game. It includes 36 new figures, including new Invaders (the famous cacodemons from the first Doom game, zombie commandos, winged cherubs, revenants, and maggots) and three new marine types. The expansion also includes a brand new Invader deck that can be used instead of the old one, new map pieces that include airless terrain, rules for competitive deathmatch and capture the flag games, new marine skill cards, and special cards that allow players to tune the difficulty of the game to their liking. New equipment, weapons (the Soul Cube), terrain features, replacement "Dud" cards that rebalance the original game, and an assortment of tokens for the new scenarios round this expansion out."

Hmm. It turns out - to my disappointment - that what I thought was Claustrophobia in my possession was in fact the expansion, De Profundis. But, happily, I have now found scans of the base game.

It is a very well-regarded game, described as being "set within the universe of Hell Dorado. It allows two players to recreate the battles taking place in the underground tunnels below New Jerusalem. One player controls a group of determined Humans, while the other plays an almost unending army of demonic creatures."

This is not my link; I'm just sharing the one I found and used because the archive is 268MB! Plus, there may be an issue with the exact size of some of the tiles being slightly off, so take care when printing.

The game manual is not included. As usual, get it from the manufacturer's web site.

File 134955457788.jpg - (125.96KB , 500x498 , 7wonders.jpg )

Time to impress the OP even more and add further to this thread! ;)

Here's 7 Wonders. I know very little about this, but it seems to be one of the best games ever if BoardGameGeek is to be believed. The description there seems a little opaque, but perhaps I'm just being obtuse. For what it's worth, then:

"7 Wonders lasts three ages. In each age, players receive seven cards from a particular deck, choose one of those cards, then pass the remainder to an adjacent player, as in Fairy Tale or a Magic: the Gathering booster draft. Players reveal their cards simultaneously, paying resources if needed or collecting resources or interacting with other players in various ways. (Players have individual boards with special powers on which to organize their cards, and the boards are double-sided as in Bauza's Ghost Stories.) Each player then chooses another card from the deck they were passed, and the process repeats until players have six cards in play from that age. After three ages, the game ends. In essence 7 Wonders is a card development game along the lines of Race for the Galaxy or Dominion. Some cards have immediate effects, while others provide bonuses or upgrades later in the game. Some cards provide discounts on future purchases. Some provide military strength to overpower your neighbors and others give nothing but victory points. Unlike Magic or Fairy Tale, however, each card is played immediately after being drafted, so you'll know which cards your neighbor is receiving and how his choices might affect what you've already built up. Cards are passed left-right-left over the three ages, so you need to keep an eye on the neighbors in both directions. Though the box of earlier editions is listed as being for 3-7 players, there is an official 2-player variant included in the instructions."

Anyway, I think this archive has raw scans of each component, but some work might need to be done to make them printable in the right quantities. As usual, the 'Geek is your friend in this regard.

The archive is just over 170MB. It made my upload connection squeak! Hope it was worth it.

One more for now. I found this in passing only recently, and note that it was requested upthread a little while ago. Better late than never, perhaps.

From BGG: "In the light, humorous, and fast-paced card game Chez Geek, players are roommates trying to reach their slack goal by inviting over cool friends, buying stuff, and performing activities (like getting tattoos and piercings). Each player has a job which provides free time (actions) and income. "Whenever" cards are used to hinder your roommates and defend yourself against uninvited guests."

I put a link to this sea wargame:
https://www.box.com/s/b3261dff547c7a8e261a
From BGG: "1805: Sea of Glory examines the naval war on an operational level during that pivotal year. Although Trafalgar shines through history as the beacon of victory, it is the successful blockade of enemy ports that kept French boats from stepping onto British soil. But 1805: Sea of Glory is more than just a game about blockade duty. It is a game of breakout and pursuit, deception and false leads, husbanding meager resources, striking a blow where your enemy least suspects, and bringing about the decisive battle that defines victory or defeat."

Here's the rest of the Chez ... games I have. Wikipedia offers a useful summary,
describing these as "stand-alone spinoffs. While these each add some new rules to the Chez Geek core, they are still (in Steve Jackson Games' words) "compatible with the original game" to some degree. (Usually, the game rules for each set have suggestions on how to combine its gameplay with the other sets.)"

Chez Greek is "Chez Geek set in a Fraternity house/College atmosphere; uses Majors instead of Jobs, and Campus cards instead of Life cards. Also adds special "Week" Whenever cards which affect all players when played (Homecoming, Spring Break, Finals Week, etc.)."

http://www.uploadmb.com/dw.php?id=1349618700

Chez Grunt is "Chez Geek set in the Army; uses MOS (Military Occupational Specialty) cards instead of Jobs, and Service cards instead of Life cards. (Notable in that cards that can ONLY be used in a straight Chez Grunt game are marked with white stars.)"

http://www.uploadmb.com/dw.php?id=1349618883

Chez Goth is "Chez Geek with Goths; adds Gloom points, which are earned via tragic events, but can be lost if no one is in your Room (via the "Misery Loves Company" rule) or from special card plays. Gloom points count toward your Slack Goal."

No, but I think you could assemble one with a bit of work. Boardgamegeek has a copy of the rules.
There's a complete Czech version on Rapidshare, which most importantly includes the map and tokens. Cards too, but not English.
There's a Castellano (Spanish more or less) version of the rules that includes the various cards.

You can find all of these by searching for Dorn at www.filecrop.com.

So grab those and a Spanish to English translation tool, or Czech to English tool, and you're good to go. I find the Castellano version almost readable without translation (Bola del Fuego -> Ball of Fire -> Fireball).

Charming map, but I'm not sure the game is all that well balanced to be honest. No sign of the expansion materials anywhere.

Netrunner LCG Anonymous 12/12/05(Wed)11:03 No. 38424
38424

File 13547017914.jpg - (190.37KB , 600x600 , pic1324609.jpg )

"Android: Netrunner is an asymmetrical Living Card Game for two players. Set in the cyberpunk future of Android and Infiltration, the game pits a megacorporation and its massive resources against the subversive talents of lone runners.

Corporations seek to score agendas by advancing them. Doing so takes time and credits. To buy the time and earn the credits they need, they must secure their servers and data forts with "ice". These security programs come in different varieties, from simple barriers, to code gates and aggressive sentries. They serve as the corporation's virtual eyes, ears, and machine guns on the sprawling information superhighways of the network.

In turn, runners need to spend their time and credits acquiring a sufficient wealth of resources, purchasing the necessary hardware, and developing suitably powerful ice-breaker programs to hack past corporate security measures. Their jobs are always a little desperate, driven by tight timelines, and shrouded in mystery. When a runner jacks-in and starts a run at a corporate server, he risks having his best programs trashed or being caught by a trace program and left vulnerable to corporate countermeasures. It's not uncommon for an unprepared runner to fail to bypass a nasty sentry and suffer massive brain damage as a result. Even if a runner gets through a data fort's defenses, there's no telling what it holds. Sometimes, the runner finds something of value. Sometimes, the best he can do is work to trash whatever the corporation was developing.

The first player to seven points wins the game, but not likely before he suffers some brain damage or bad publicity." (from BGG)

By most accounts, this is a very successful re-implementation of the original, which was widely regarded as the best CCG ever.

File 13628469644.jpg - (38.75KB , 425x623 , boxfront.jpg )

Huh? This thread is still active? How come it doesn't show on the first page still? Is it doing this for just me, or everyone else? Let's see if I can bump it back up ...

"The Witcher: The Adventure card Game lets you immerse in a perilous world where witchers have to face various powerful monsters. You will accompany Geralt on deadly missions when your life depends not only on your reliable swords and magical powers, but also on your friends and allies, who will come to your aid when you need it the most.

The aim of each player is to defeat the most dangerous monsters and to acquire the greatest fame. In order to do that you need to put the special abilities of the characters known from the Witcher Saga to good use and entrust Geralt with potentially lethal tasks. There can only be one winner.

The Witcher: The Adventure card Game is meant for 2 to 4 players and is playable in 30 to 90 minutes (depending on the number of players)."

Looks interesting, although there is little more information in English. Still, it's a small download (7 MB), so take a gander!

Magical Athlete (redesign) Anonymous 13/03/09(Sat)18:20 No. 42286
42286

File 136284964347.jpg - (347.49KB , 1200x1575 , boxfront.jpg )

Nope, that didn't work. Is this thread on some sort of autosage (unlike the RPG thread)? Oh well, with the end in sight if not actually nigh, here's another little game.

"It is the annual athletic festival in a fantasy world. The most popular event in this festival is the team foot race, with fantasy and mythological creatures participating in this race, such as the Siren, Witch, Centaur and many others. Who will win this year’s festival?"

This is a very nice redesign of Magical Athlete, which is itself a very nice game reminiscent of Cosmic Encounter, albeit simpler. Ostensibly for 4-5 players, although unofficial rules for fewer players can be found on BoardGameGeek, this archive contains a redesigned gameboard (double-sided) and the 25 character cards, together with the original rules. Character counters will need to be sourced/made, and the cards themselves are not immediately ready to print as-is, but the effort will be worth it. A gem, and under 6 MB in size.

Love Letter Anonymous 13/03/09(Sat)19:49 No. 42292
42292

File 136285495025.jpg - (126.58KB , 371x500 , Love_Letter.jpg )

I'm afraid that I am usually unable to fulfill many specific requests, as mentioned earlier and for those reasons. In this vein, Vampire: Prince of the City was available from boardgamer.ru in the form of an archive almost 900 MB in size! Unfortunately, the download link appears to 404 now, and the archive size is way beyond my capability to upload it. I may be able to shrink it a bit, but maybe someone else snagged it and is better placed to reupload it?

Anyway, I think the title game was requested a while back. A pretty and simple game, but nonetheless effective .

"In the wake of the arrest of Queen Marianna for high treason, none was more heartbroken than her daughter, Princess Annette. Suitors throughout the City-State of Tempest sought to ease Annette’s sorrow by courting her to bring some joy into her life. You are one of these suitors, trying
to get your love letter to the princess. Unfortunately, she has locked herself in the palace, so you must rely on intermediaries to carry your message. During the game, you hold one secret card in your hand. This is who currently carries your message of love for the princess. Make sure that the person closest to the princess holds your love letter at the end of the day, so it reaches her first!"

The archive contains scans of the cards, plus the rulebook. Some cards will need to be printed more than once, but there are only 16 playing cards in total, so the effort should be minimal.

Boss Monster Anonymous 13/04/03(Wed)20:59 No. 43497
43497

File 13650155949.jpg - (79.41KB , 490x500 , bm.jpg )

Well, well, well. I think I can fill some of these recent requests... starting with this one.

"Inspired by a love of classic video games, Boss Monster is a "dungeon-building" card game that pits 2-4 players in a competition to build the ultimate side-scrolling dungeon. Players compete to lure and destroy hapless adventurers, racing to outbid one another to see who can build the most enticing, treasure-filled dungeon.

The goal of Boss Monster is to be the first Boss to amass ten Souls, which are gained when a Hero is lured and defeated. But a player can also lose if his Boss takes five Wounds from Heroes who survive his dungeon.

Playing Boss Monster requires you to juggle two competing priorities: the need to lure Heroes at a faster rate than your opponents, and the need to kill those Heroes before they reach your Boss. Players can build one room per turn, each with its own damage and treasure value. More attractive rooms tend to deal less damage, so a Boss who is too greedy can become inundated with deadly Heroes.

Players interact with each other by building rooms and playing Spells. Because different Heroes seek different treasure types, and rooms are built simultaneously (played face down, then revealed). This means that every "build phase" is a bidding war. Spells are instant-speed effects that can give players advantages or disrupt opponents.

As a standalone card game with 150 cards, Boss Monster contains everything that 2-4 players need to play." (From BGG)

These are not my links, because the archive is quite large. There are two links for the same game, but with different archive sizes and descriptions. I have not investigated the differences (if any) between them. So: -

Dungeons and Dragons Adventure Game (2000) Anonymous 13/04/04(Thu)20:51 No. 43538
43538

File 136510147155.jpg - (21.00KB , 366x500 , D&D2000.jpg )

From BGG: "Based upon the roleplaying system D&D here we have a typical dungeon crawl game. A dungeon master is needed to control the "bad guys" and to lay out the dungeon features. The player characters are either Clerics, Fighters, Rogues or Wizards. The rules are a simpler version of the D&D rules, but the character development goes along with the standard rules. Player characters gain experience points and can advance to the next level. Only rules for 2nd-level characters are given, for level 3 and higher the D&D Player's Handbook is needed.

Contents:
1 Map
6 Character Sheets
Rules Summary Sheets
Rule Book
Adventure Book with 6 adventures
Dice
Tokens which represent player characters, monsters, treasures and dungeon features such as doors."

A brief check seems to indicate that all the above (apart from dice, of course) seems to be contained in this one handy 27MB PDF file: -

43596

File 136525175483.jpg - (49.57KB , 359x500 , warmaster.jpg )

Not to be confused with the fun little free game of the same name included in an old White Dwarf, this Warmaster "is a set of fantasy miniatures wargame rules developed by the same company as produced Warhammer, Warhammer 40,000 and Lord of the Rings miniatures rules. This is not a complete game; players are required to independantly purchase miniatures and construct a playing surface (wargames terrain). The game is scaled for 10mm miniatures (1:144, N Scale), and is designed to represent combat at the regiment and brigade level set in a fantasy/renaissance techology world.

In Warmaster, combat and casualty calculations occur at the stand level. That is, for every stand in a unit, a number of dice are rolled in combat. As whole stands are removed by sustaining casualties, the number of dice similalry decreases.

The command mechanism in Warmaster is simple but evocative. Each leader model has a Command factor. To issue a command, such as 'move forward' to a unit, two dice must be rolled against that target command factor. For every subsequent order attempted the target number becomes more difficult to achieve. As a consequence, despite being on the surface a move-counter move system, the turns are variable length and each player may not have the full opportunity to achieve everything they may want to. This simple mechanism introduces enjoyable tension into what is otherwise a largely conventional set of wargame rules."

I have more to share, but I am far from able to fulfill many requests. For instance, I would like to see Tannhauser as much as the previous requester, and I have no more of the GW boardgames requested. I have one other D&D game (the 2003 version), but it's proving... troublesome(!) to upload the fairly large archive.

ok, so this is what you get with space hulk P&P , i finally finished it myself. (note that rulebook is made myself with diffrend cover so i wouldnt spent too much color on black) and i used shoebox for the case... as you can see some parts are bent (like the bigger rooms) its 'cos i used stickclue on them and not the spraying glue..

also you can maybe spot assault cannon terminator in middle , how the belt is made and in the right bottom corner the room with artifact stand and the relic book on it. hopefully it clears how they are made.

I might also make some "fan made" addons to this (like airconduction ways and other rooms/hallways) in release 2 ,but i would really want to make also the Ultramarines BG addon to this (since it uses same board layout) ... i would only need the rules and cards from it ,so if anyone has Ultramarines http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/8728/ultra-marines please share.

Inspired as I am by 0xCoins' splendid efforts, how about some more hulking in space for the time being?

This was (and is!) a fantastic conversion of Zombie in my Pocket to the Space Hulk theme, made freely available before the joyless zealots at GW panicked at the idea of someone enjoying a game without giving them money!

I think it has been re-themed further to a more generic 'alien assault' and is still available in this form, but please enjoy this little solo-play gem in its original form.

Described by the author, Malechi, as follows:"Based on the game Space Hulk, utilizing images from all three versions. SHimP includes 18 Incident cards, 12 Command Deck tiles and 11 Catwalk tiles along with everything you will need to play (Rules, Counter Cards, Miniatures and Counter Tokens). The Mission Book includes 5 different ways to play utilizing different sets of cards and tiles. Each describing a different play style, including the basic ‘ZimP in Space’ style of play; how to use different tiles and cards to create different missions; as well as a two player version."

The Genestealers' invasion of the Imperium proceeded distressingly well. "We must boost morale in the Legiones Astartes or perish," said Chapter Master Vespasian after the fall of the planet Necromunda. He drummed armored fingers on his Command Throne.

"Perhaps we might present some merry entertainment to lighten their mood," said Brother Promatix of the Administratum. Vespasian scowled.

"A Legionnaire needs no entertainment. He lives to kill and to die in service to our glorious Emperor. No, we must publicly humiliate the Genestealers. We must prove we can move among them at our will, with impunity."

"Aha!" Promatix snapped his fingers. "I believe we may arrive at a constructive compromise."

This marked the birth of the Space Marine Recreator squad...

This humorously entertaining game pits two players against each other aboard a spaceship. One plays the ship's crew, trying to kill the evil and rapidly-multiplying aliens controlled by his opponent. And although the crew members have several weapons available to them, they don't know what effect those weapons will have until they try using them in combat against the Awful Green Things.

I've not been ignoring this thread, I just cannot help with these requests, sorry.

I do, however, have Saboteur 2...

Saboteur 2 is an expansion for Saboteur. The archive below therefore contains the base game as well.

Each player takes on the role of a gold-digging dwarf or a saboteur who wants to hinder exploration of the gold mines -- but each player knows only his own role, so the digging may or may not go as planned!

Each turn, a player lays down a tunnel card to dig from the start card toward one of the goal cards (or potentially away, if a saboteur) or plays an action card to help or hinder someone. If the diggers manage to find the gold hidden under one of the goal cards, then the diggers share the loot found there; if the gold can't be reached, the saboteurs profit instead. After three rounds, the player with the most gold wins.

The original Saboteur allowed 3-10 players, while Saboteur 2 handles 2-12 players. Saboteur 2 includes additional role cards (the boss, profiteers, geologists), new action cards (steal gold, change your role), and new tunnel cards featuring doors, ladders and bridges. What's more, the gold seekers can now be divided into teams -- blue vs. green -- and only those on the team that finds the gold score anything, assuming they do of course...

I am not terribly familiar with this game. The archive appears to contain print-ready JPEGs for the cards, a scan of the token sheet, and I have added PDFs of the rules leaflets. As usual, though, BGG should be able to fill in any blanks (if indeed there are any): -

You can (or at least could until recently) use BugMeNot to log in to Scribd to download items, as I referred to in an earlier post of mine above. They seem quite quick to invalidate such accounts now, however.

There used to be a trick to download documents by accessing Scribd while spoofing a mobile browser agent (e.g. Opera Mini), but whether this still works, I do not know.

Or you can create a free account, upload a document and get given Premium Membership for free, according to the site. That is probably the most reliable method of getting the document for free, although I have not tried it.

Hope this helps. Post the rules here if you get them! (If I get a chance to try to snag them, I'll do the same.)
