File 135680711935.jpg - (109.10KB , 400x518 , Sahuagin.jpg )

Sup /tg/,
Our current 3.5 campaign will soon end, and a new one will begin. I'm thinking ahead and I got the next DM to allow me to play a sahaguin without any level adjustment, since :
- LAs are ineffective bullshit
- I can't breathe air for more than con/2 hours (no, i'm not allowed to use that mask which allows aquatic creatures to breathe air)
- Most of sahaguin powers don't work on land (blindsense, speak with fucking sharks, and all that crap)

So anyway I want to play a NE druid who roughly wants to get the ocean to engulf land-based civilization, so that the sahuagins reign over the world, and that I reign over the sahuagins (yeah it's not supposed to actually happen, the character is kinda nuts).
Although I already noticed a lot of druid spells that stick with the whole ocean stuff (e.g. lvl 9 tsunami, if I ever reach druid lvl 17), I couldn't find any suitable animal companion and wild shape.
I was thinking about a crocodile for the companion, but it is slow and makes me even more likely to get killed on sight everywhere civilized.
TL;DR good spells/animal companion/wildshape for a sahuagin druid in a land-based campaign.
>inb4 storm druid, pure shit
>inb4 one bazillion gp worth of magic items to make me more broken than the druid already is
>inb4 OP can't inb4
Also if you didn't get it, the DM *wants* me to be unable to breathe air for long, he won't let me get around it easily (which I find reasonable). For now I plan on casting "create water" in a pool every 8 hours or so, and taking a bath.

Ignoring LA? I hope *everyone* gets a +2 race for free or -2 reduction of a higher LA creature. Are you ignoring racial HD too?

To your Create Water idea- don't forget your Freshwater Sensitivity.

If you don't want to play a Malenti (from the SRD: If a community of aquatic elves is located within 100 miles of a sahuagin community, about one in one hundred sahuagin looks just like an aquatic elf. These creatures, called malenti, have a swim speed of 40 feet, can remain out of water for 1 hour per point of Constitution. Malenti have no natural attacks. They are otherwise identical with sahuagin.) to help with the racial prejudice, you could play as an aquatic elf instead, keeping the LE water-conqueror thing, for a few more character options. Stormwrack has more cool things for aquatic elves. If you want to be a sahuagin, it still has feats, spells and prestige classes you might like.

did you miss the bit where LA doesn't do its job, fucks up game balance, and how Sahuagin powers aren't worth diddle squat on land?

Ok course, I give up racial HD and what goes with them (ban, saves, feats, skills).
I know about Malenti, but I'd rather stick with the monstrous sahuagin.
Thanks for reminding me about Freshwater Sensitivity ! ^^

Just ask to see if you can use the Pathfinder advanced race building rules.
I think it has 0 LA rules for Sahuagin included.

Best animal companion you could take: Squid. That thing can grapple like a motherbastard.
