Just quit an online game;

Generic Pay-to-win card-game affair with a level-up mechanic for the cards.

Started a new account, since I had no idea what I was doing 1st time round, and decided to leave all the useless lvl-1 cards I had no intention to use rather than wasting gold raising their rank. Along comes the leader-board event and I decided, fudge it, levelled up all the basics and shot up the rankings (you earn the same amount of points for evolving cards regardless of their c-levels). 2nd place and a good few 100 point lead over 3rd, sweet, maximum loot reward for 1st 2nd and 3rd, watch the leader board for the last few minutes as the timer counts down (the leader board updates every 10 seconds) and raise a few more cards to play it safe (my lead on 3rd is increasing).

Timer ticks over... 4th place! No way to view the final positions on the leader-board, got to take it on faith....

I'm calling bullshit, not mad, just disappointed. Good thing I never payed to win. Bit of a waste of time though.

I find it a lot harder to quit online games because you get attached to the community. For me if I stopped playing I would lose some of my only friends, despite not very much enjoying the game anymore (because those same friends are equally as addicted and likely have the same sort of situation). It would definitely improve my life to cut out online games
