I'm attempting to join Special Forces. I'm 18, no weapons training, but am physically training before I enlist. I'm going to ask for an 18X-Ray(?)

currently running, swimming and lifting 3-4 times a week and will continue and increase intensity for 2 years.

advice?

You have to pass the physical aspects, but the real thing that matters is if you have the will to do it.

hypothetical situation time. what would you do in each scenario?

1. you wake up at 4 in the morning to some kids breaking in to your garage. they're stealing valuable stuff. WDYD?

2. some musclebound nigger like kimbo slice confronts you on the street but you aren't CCWing. WDYD?

3. as a kneejerk reaction/feelgood solution to some "tragedy" like some downtown school (read: black kids) getting shot by a white guy going on a rampage, new gun control laws are introduced that are equivalent, if not more so, to the 94 AWB. WDYD?

Wonder why I only got 5 minutes of sleep, then let the kids continue so that I could use my creepy stealth abilities to follow them home. Later I would steal all of their shit and poison their grape sodas (grape because they would be niggers, amirite?).

Take my pants off and piss on his beard. If this does not tell him that he is dealing with a crazy motherfucker, hit the solar plexus hard and fast. Then piss in his mouth while he's gasping for breath and run bare ass through the streets.

Hey, /w/.

I heard that Switzerland produces some really good firearms. Is that true? I'm not exactly the most knowledgeable when it comes to manufacturers.

So, if you could tell me some Swiss makes and models, I'd highly appreciate it.

Swiss weapon export regulations are less complicated than with many other countries, so it makes sense to have a production facility in Switzerland. For example, German "Sauer und Sohn" is working with "Swiss Arms (SIG)", and the products are known as "Sig-Sauer". Italian "Morini" moved their production facility over-the-border into the Italian speaking region of Switzerland, etc.

Currently the following weapon manufacturers are operating in Switzerland: Bern, Brügger & Thomet, Hämmerli, Morini, Rheinmetall, RUAG, SIG Sauer, Sphinx Systems, Swiss Arms.

Swiss, you mean? Sweden would NEVER let their soldiers to take their service rifles with them when they are released from active service and transferred to reserves, Switzerland on the other hand DOES provide their reservists with service rifles as well as certain amount of ammunition, they even let the reservists keep their rifles after their time in reserves ends, they'll just have to pay a fee as well as return the rifle to the SIG factory to be permanently turned into a semi-automatic rifle.

Crossbow bolt/target question. Sarah Palin 12/08/30(Thu)04:15 No. 14248 [Reply]
14248

File 134629295548.jpg - (507.93KB , 1600x1200 , BentArrow.jpg )

First off, I'm new to this.

I bought an inexpensive, 170lbs draw weight, crossbow just to shoot for fun. I'm not a hunter. It came with 5 bolts and I bought some really cheap aluminum ones too.

I made a target out of wood and the tried it a couple of times with the bolts it came with. It worked great but after a couple shots the bolts lodged so deep in the wood they broke trying to remove them. I added 5-6 inches of cardboard and switched to the really cheap bolts I bought, they bent on impact.

I am not in a position to make a hay or sand target to protect the arrows, so my question is:

Will carbon or higher quality aluminum arrows not bend or brake? Or, What is a better way to make a softer target that does not require hay or sand?

Stronger bolts/Increase range to target/'Softer' target.

One or more of these should solve your problem.

If you want a really cheap and soft target, find a hill, dig a vertical notch in it, pin your target over it and aim for that. Bring a rag to clean your bolts afterwards.

The Markov and Fort-12 are okay stopgaps, but you should really upgrade to a HPSS-1m, Martha or SIP-t M200 as soon as possible. IIRC there's a Martha hidden in the cab of a truck near the cranes at Zaton, and there's a M200 under a rock north of the gas station.

All right guys, I'm looking to buy myself a handgun fairly soon, but my experience in handguns is rather limited. Thats not to say I no nothing of guns, but all my shooting experience comes from me shooting whats available for me to borrow, and the occasional gun safety course and such. I've never bought myself a gun, but now I'm out living on my own and thought I'd like to have one for range shooting and self-defense (although that is highly unlikely in my area, so mostly for the occasional range shooting) and I was looking for advice on what to get.

One piece of advice I did get was that you should go for the largest caliber that you can easily handle and being a rather large guy (6'3"ish) with rather large hands I was told I'd probably handle .45 no problem. And I have fired .45s before without any difficulty, but not for extended periods of time or consistently.

So what would you guys recommend in .45 for me? Or do you disagree with that caliber choice?

Sarah Palin 12/08/22(Wed)02:29 No. 14236

.45 is no problem for comfort of shooting, but it does cost alot, so if money is a problem you might be better with like 9mil.

I personally do love the .45 though. I went to a local gun range and rented a kimber 1911 and ran a box of ammo through it. Most accurate handgun i have ever shot.

1911's & new 40's Springfield 12/08/25(Sat)16:43 No. 14241

If you liked the Kimber, try a Sig, smae price range, nicest 1911 I've shot, out of Kimbers, Springfields, CZ Dan Wessons, all the top notch match grade 1911's. (My local shop has a bi annual try-anything-in-the-store day at the range) Now: I have an XDm .40, carries 16 + 1. .40 cal is much less expensive than .45 ACP, many pistols with more than twice capacity of 1911's, super, super accurate, and damn near all the stopping power. Best bang for the buck at 600 dollar range.

Sarah Palin 12/08/26(Sun)23:47 No. 14244

avoid kimbers. they have taken a nosedive in quality recently.
