To Be honest with you My friend, I was
actually looking at the very same pistol.
Just a little more of a blueish color on the lower frame. Something like this.
Also thanks for the proper name As well.

Do you like the RIA? I'd like to buy a 1911 style pistol but I don't want to spend $600 for one.

I was the above guy to post about the operator from springfield.
Um, the gun that I said that I'd like to get was priced at $1,545 USD in 2004, so it's prolly gone up since then.
But none the less, everything on the weapon is match grade, and I'd say it's worth it.
(Once I get the Money & move away from california That is.)
Also much of the stuff can either be modified by the company, or adjusted to preference by the user/customer.

Someone should start a home made weapons thread. I know you have made one.

For anyone who makes a thread regarding building firearms in the future, please state that it is illegal to create SBRs, similar weapons and sound suppressors without registering and paying for a 200 dollar tax stamp before building. Also, be sure to remind people to check their state and local laws. Thanks.

Correct literary form is often left to the dogs in such circumstances, and I figured that I'd just follow suit.

Will you answer my question now?

Kimber makes fantastic ones. I've been hearing better and better things about Taurus' semi-auto pistols though as time goes on, so I'd check their stuff out. You might come out with a much better price/quality ratio.

Yeah, that's true, but the Taurus 1911 looks so shitty that I find myself very amenable to the idea of paying a premium, if only for a lighter finish and a bit of wood grain.

Double stack 1911's aren't real common, or very practical. They have cons but its not something everyone's seen before. Or a custom built race gun. Thats about as odd as you're going to get with a 1911.

recent episode of handguns on the sportsman channel spoke of coating the rails of the slide and the frame with carbide to eliminate gauling, has anyone else herd of this and is it cost effective?
