There is no excess to my collection. There's also a machete and several large knives floating around here. I wouldn't mind owning a couple handguns (9mm autoloader and .357 revolver) but Im pretty comfy with this. Just enough for #1.

I categorize my personal gear according to function and mission objective. Specifically there are 2 modes of operation for your load-out gear: Raid mode, and Bug-Out mode. Raid-mode emphasizes combat effectiveness and mobility; you would go with raid gear for most missions once you have an established HQ. Bug-out mode is exactly what you think and can be further split into 2 common categories: Automotive, and On-Foot.

Here's an idea of what my Raid gear looks like sans the combat harness and weapons.

every time i go to work i look at my coworkers and think, crap this is gonna be my zombie survival crew. a huge fat guy who might be a useful distraction for the zombies, a young Bolivian man who plays soccer should be able to outrun me but i trust him, a young Peruvian woman who will probably become histerical and be useless and maybe even a burden if other members of the group insist on saving her, an older (maybe in her 40s) woman who may very well be the 2 toughest in our group being an ex trucker. me a slightly out of shape martial artist and gun nerd and im also probably the a little too logical anti hero though i mean well, and our boss an ex military drill seargent ex football coach ex you name it hes done it who probably will be the most useful. don't get me wrong though i actually like all of them. anyway it would either be that or id be locked in my apartment with my girlfriend. anyway tell me who you would most likely be with when the zombies hit the fan.

well most likely since I'm still a teenager I would have my mom (who is an expert marksman I might add), my dad who sadly is overweight and has a leg injury, the guy I am in love with who also knows how to shoot a gun and who ever else we find who isn't a threat. oh and I am slightly overweight but I am an expert strategist and can come up with a quick solution on the fly :3

Hole the fuck up in my apartment. Ration food so that it lasts for over a month or so. The way my apartment is designed and placed is highly convenient for sitting out a zed storm.

I propose that we here in /zom develop a basic naming convention for quickly identifying hostiles in the field. This could help in coordinating and unifying discussion both passive and strategic regarding the general zombie threat. We should use general criteria to help differentiate them, things we have learned to identify thru games, movies, and other media. Once we establish the most common types and criteria, then we can formulate a system for naming them.

Examples of naming parameters: Ambulation [lurker, crawler, shambler, walker, runner] ; Physiology [undead, infected, drug slave, parasitic host] ; Numbers [Loner, Pair, Set: 3-4, Group:5+ , Swarm 12+, Wall 30+, Horde 100+]

Good afternoon fellow zom-tards.

I've made a post sometime before now about the declining popularity of this board and have opted for a way to keep in touch with those who view this board then continue on with their lives.

As a mishmash of a social thread and the traditional zombie theme, we should keep ourselves connected for many reasons, be it that the apocalypse comes around and we need friends, or we just want to stay connected with others that have similar interests.

I'm sick of dark zombies. I like light aligned villains, and since light in fantasy tends towards order, why not light-aligned undead?

The closest thing I found was the Black Lantern Corps, which, despiste the name, seem to be always glowing with white light for some unexplained reason.

Explain more. Black Lantern corps where powered by black energy. They would reanimate the dead, but they would come back very much evil and intelligent, even malicious towards their family, friends and lovers.

That said, are you intrigued by good zombies or neutral zombies blessed with divine energy or evil flesh devouring zombies dressed in priest garb with halos and white light auras? (the latter being closest to black lanterns)
