I've gotten tired of every all flesh or zombie thread dying after 3 posts on /tg/. That and /zom/ is slowing to a crawl we might as well have a zombie RPG thread to drum up posts.
Tell us of your previous games and experiences. Perhaps even what plans for games you have or interests you have in playing one.
Example zombie systems
All Flesh Must Be Eaten
Dead Reign
Blood and Brains
Seriously there's a dozens

What are the differences between Dead Reign and All Flesh? I've heard all flesh is way more modular than DR.

Some would say that Dead Reign is most involved of a system than All flesh which is just basic unisystem with a zombie bent. On the whole unisystem is an very easy to learn system that runs really fast as well. You can make zombie varients within minutes. I'd recommend it over dead reign but I've had my fun with dead reign as well. Other systems to mention would be D20 Modern, Dark Heresy if you like Warhammer, and World of Darkness. You can make zombies work fairly well as long as you don't let your players power game (WoD's infamous balance issue). Speaking of which NEVER EVER let some someone mention running zombie D&D! They have NEVER WORKED AND NEVER WILL!

Shambler 13/01/30(Wed)03:32 No. 4227 ID: 283d05

The reason that All Flesh is modular is it's essentially Unisystem core and all Unisystem games have pretty much the same rules only with new rules, fluff, and qualities being the difference. Needless to say getting the zombie wrestling splat was pretty awesome

So how does damage work in these games? Only RPG i've ever played was D&D back in high school and i always hated how regular dudes can't be killed by being chopped in the face by a axe or being set on fire.

THIS FUCKING ASSHOLES! Never let your GM make flying undead. We were a squadren of roman soldiers during the expansion of the empire into middle Europe. Was pretty awesome dealing with tribals and the occasional monster with a perpetual rain of pilums and spear formations. That all ended when the ZM sent this flying assholes at us as we crossed the alps. Should have listened to those villagers

I've never played Dead Reign but in all flesh being harmed is a really really big deal considering there's no magic to just heal you and healing naturally can take weeks(in game). Two to Three bullets from a weak civilian handgun can reliably kill a human being outright not counting blood loss and the like. Hell i've had characters die from being shanked by crack heads as slashing/stabbing/bullets deal double damage after armor and that before applying multipliers for location damage.
Get shot in the head unarmored? Say 16 damage? so now double it=36. Now head shot? Triple that damage if i remember tight. The average human amount of life points are in the mid 20's to 40's. You see how dangerous this can get as a person can essentially shoot multiple times in a round. People always talk about how deadly Dark Heresy is but Unisystem puts it to shame. <pic is an exDark Heresy Crit tables>

i would love to share my zombie story so far.
>russians tried to invade america after Zday thinking it would be easy
>whole world got fucked by zombies and most of russian army got stuck in america
>26 years have gone by from Z-day.
>fort cambell in kentucky
>about 10,000 people surviving there
>farming, doing village shit
>alarm goes off 1 day
>everyone is called into action if able
>horde of a couple million zombies are marching up the interstate
>the troops mass to make a blockade
>zombies hidden in subways as a trap flank the blockade
>tanks retreating down road start taking mortar fire
>basically everyone got fucked

thats where it starts.
we have as PCs,

lieutenant victor c romanski
>loves vodka
>pretty senseable guy

>middle aged truck driver
>grew up working for russian mob (driving loads)
>uses large pistols (357 mag, .44 mag) to kill stuff
>loves his big rig more than anything or anyone on earth
>only gets along with victor

Frank the tank
>quiet guy
>sword and board all the time
>will charge into groups of zombies like a plow with riot shields
>was raped as a child by a road gang and is very weird because of it

>half russian half american
>grew up in russian gang
>ran away at age 12
>uses swords or bows most of the time
>quiet and weird, likes to sing and hum alot
>usually tears it up in combat

i have a NPC that is a heli pilot, he has been helping the group for a while now and they all love him. they are a pretty tight group and im pretty stoked to see what happens to them.

(the horde of zombies is controled by a zombie master intent on killing off the human population in america)

So where exactly would i be able to get this? Does anyone have a link because fuck playing $20

Shambler 13/04/01(Mon)00:55 No. 4492 ID: 283d05

You're gonna just want to jump on any torrenting site. /tg/ pdfs aren't exactly a hard thing to find on torrenting or sharing sites. You could buy it too especially if you have friends interested in playing a physical copy is always better.

Shambler 13/04/01(Mon)01:24 No. 4493 ID: 283d05

Running an AFMBE game before, I had one of my players get jumped by a smart zombie (smart enough to use tools at least), that stabbed in through the back and out of his chest with a broken pipe. All in all, due to some good rolls on the zombie's part, the character was left at something around -30 or -40 LP.
>Player: "Could he survive that?"
>ZM: "Well, it's not likely, but you can try I guess. Roll to see if you live through it."
>10, 10, 10, 10, 10, 10, 10, 10, 8.
>Player: "So, I lived?"
>ZM: "Uh... For now, yeah. I guess roll to see if you're conscious as well."
>10, 10, 10, 10, 10, 9
>Everyone at the table stares silently at the die, then looks to the player.
>ZM: "I'll remind you that, given how wounded he is, it might hurt him if he does anything strenuous. It's your turn now."
>Player: "He's going to turn around and put his assault rifle on full auto into that zombie's face."
Basically, with more zombies coming and him having been the guy covering the rear, he figured he wouldn't be surviving. Better to go down in a blaze of glory.
