Personally I think you should start with Robert Monroe's work (at least the first book) and dabble with the Gateway Process. Regarding aura's... read Rudolf Steiner's short treatise on Self Initiation. This will line up with later work/systems and I believe there is something there. Not aware of any probable kinetic work although if it were possible its likely achieved via oobe such as Monroe spent a lifetime on.
