Together with the exile in Egypt and Mose's Exodus, it's just an ethnogenesis fanfic. Compare when the Exodus was supposed to happen with maps over contemporary Egypt. Does not add up.

This was obviously written by someone who didn't knew or didn't want to admit knowledge about group violence. The egyptians would've noticed that all the firstborns in homes without blood over the doors was spared. They'd probably notice that their neigbors painted their doors with blood the day before. And then the israelites would've probably been lynched.

A similar ignorance can be seen in The Book of Esther where the author strongly asserted that the jews didn't loot after they won their battles. There's no gray scale that *most* of the victorious jews behaved themselves and those who didn't was punished etc etc.

Fast foward to AD 2023 when pics of israelis pissing on palestinian corpses has surfaced...
