I have one of these: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1OfxlSG6q5Y&t=276s

It really is the best toaster I've ever owned. Easy to clean, and it cooks my toasts exactly the way I like it, every single time. My old (modern) toaster was one of the normal ones with a timer, so if it was already warm from being used, it would overcook the next batch of toast. And my wife's toaster oven has to be watched closely the entire time you make toast in it, because it goes from 'lightly toasted' to 'charcoal briquette' in seconds if you're not paying attention, and the timer is absolutely useless.

How did they make the perfect toaster in the 1950's, and why don't they do it today?

Kitchen appliances peaked in the 90's. Then they started cheaping out on the materials while at the same time making them "smart" with timers and computers and wifi and such bullshit. So they don't work as well and don't last as long, but they look fancy and can sync up with your motherfucking phones app, if for some reason you need to set something to toast while you're not at home or some shit.

Tektronix Type 310A.

Does anyone please know where to find manuals to them? Or some kind of technical nomenclature. I've been looking online at my local electronics store, and I can't find what the "input" contact is called. Is it some kind of coaxial?

Coaxial cables with BNC connectors are used in many modern CCTV systems, preferred over IP for the lack of network connection. 1 network connected DVR and all analog cams verses a camera server (usually running Windows) and many IP cameras requiring a PoE switch and maybe a router. The coaxial system has a much lower attack surface from a networking assessment.

I really like pointless terminal interfaces.
as an art piece I want to install terminals in public places that display useless information and see how long it takes for someone to remove them.

Things like redundant instructions, legal disclaimers, clock LCD's.
I just want people to think about how pointless the technology in our society really is.

My plan is basically batteries and double sided tape.

How is the current time useless information? Display the current date and time from 1000 years ago and at double speed.

I'd guess that it will get stolen before it's removed.
