I went for a reality theme as well. Admittedly, I don't have C4 but I do have tannerite and a heap of gunpowder from my reloading activities.

I didn't feel like spamming the shit out of the ammo pouches but I have ~400 rounds at the moment and maybe 120 cases to be reloaded. I also have a Lee Enfield No1MkIII, not an M1917.

As for area:

Though my 'gun' is better. 14 barrels, digital ammo counter, integrated computer, flamecannon, grenade launcher, sniper sight (for those pesky 10k headshots), reflex sight, ultra-high-energy-gamma-laser-obliterater™ (capable of punching holes in small stars), and flash-light with a 2 year battery guarantee. There's a tripod to.

I should also mention it was made in the USSR so it'll survive anything and is easy to repair, plus it comes with enough ammunition for 11.5 seconds of fully automatic ammunition (apprx. 11-12k rounds) caseless.

Innacity, hide with others survivors in a apparently abandoned and looted home with a secret entrance to a hideout. Hard to find, easy to defend, second exit is never used and impossible to find.

Get out at night in small groups looking for food, water and trade. Allays stay at cover, move slowly and quietly. Two watchmen and one or two scavenger for a looting team, 4 people for a trade team secretly covered by a second group of 2 or 3 backers.

In a city, we can fight only at close range. We try to standardize the ammo as much as we can and trade others types.

This is a complete realistic rundown for me, in my regard.



Civilization: Suburbia and everything below (Rural, Farm, etc)

Location: Midwest America, somewhat close to major city (Chicago)

Nature:Forests, Wetlands, more Forests.

Situation/Scenario: Scans various newsfeeds, keeping track of when SHTF whether it be zambies or etc, like any other day. Read that SHTF is now legit today. One Hour to get everything I planned to pack(Got a list, see?) Walk out of townhome unit, bike north. Alaskan Highway or Bust.

Weather: Currently spring. 50's Fahrenheit. Summer is hell. Fall is 40-60s. Winter gets very dangerous-level cold, but is also where I am comfortable with/heavily adapted to.

Danger: Due to early detection, what I mostly will face is stupid people going about their lives, not knowing about reality until it hits their face in the next couple weeks. (This means reckless drivers, gang members, niggers, and oddities.) Wildlife gets more dangerous on my trek further north. Warm weather and idiots are troublesome.

Population: Moderate


The primary objective of this build is for basic supplies raids/scouting. I left a lot of slots open to give room for scavenging supplies and remaining light weight. The kit is loadout is designed for trips lasting 5-10 hours.

I went with an MP5SD over a full size rifle for several reasons:

1. Weight of ammunition. 9x19 is a lot lighter than 7.62x39, 7.62x51, or 5.45x45. This lightens the overall loadout, and allows better mobility/endurance on longer raids.

2. Compactness. the stock collapses and the overall length of the gun is significantly reduced to help moving around when not holding the gun

3. Suppression. This is the biggest factor. The MP5SD's integrated suppressor in addition to dramatically reducing the volume of the gun, also reduces the velocity of bullets to subsonic speeds. This means that there is no super loud 'crack' that rifles have from their bullets breaking the sound barrier every time a bullet is fired. The noise reduction would be huge for minimizing detection from zombies, and I find it worth the trade off of lowered range and weaker ammunition

As far as range goes, I don't see the point in shooting zombies from beyond 150m, zombies will not be a threat until they are within maybe 100m or less, beyond that range I think it would be more advantageous to evade a zombie instead of wasting ammo and making a ton of noise to pick off a zombie so far away. I think SMGs are the optimal anti-zombie weapon in regards to firearms.

Realistically optimist scenario in picture.

Depressingly realistic grab and run scenario: no rifle and ammo, gardening axe instead of firefighter's, no vest and no protein bars.

Civilization:
Suburban town, alternatively remote village.

Location:
Southern Greece.

Nature:
Mountains, oak forest, maquis bushlands and rugged coastline.

Climate:
Warm, semi arid, very mild winter (rarely colder than 0°C and only at higher altitudes), prone to windstorms during winter.

Population:
Over 3 million people/3,000 square kms, alternatively ~7000 people/200 square kms.

I'd stash the rifle, it's ammo and the large bag when I'm on short trips, but trade it out for the shotgun if I went hunting. If I could find one I'd wear a stab-vest as well.

This is a very realistic setup. Everything i put in here i alredy have at home. I would take me around 20 minutes to leave the house because i dont have everything packed and ready.

the only thing not in the chart that I would have with me is my blowtorchs, this is all I'd really have available to me.

the toolbox represent all the handtools I would keep in my vest pockets, my vocation is pipefitter. I think my tools would give me a fighting chance despite lack of firearms.
