Alright, here's the rest of TMNT Volume 1. These are 200 meg packs of issues, the numbers in the filename being the first and last issue in the pack. The first pack is the first 11 issues in their original black and white, and a few reprints of issue 1. If you read the color versions in the OP, you can skip those if you want, or check em out to see how they looked at first, up to you.

I'll upload Tales of the TMNT volume 1 later. AND HEY GUESS WHAT? those first 11 issues are going be released in a hardcover collection this August. Buy it, and more should come out that way too. If we're lucky, they'll reprint the rest of TMNT chronologically, that'd be pretty kickass.

The idea was for this to be the general TMNT comics thread. Posting AND commenting. Tell us what you think about them.

Cmon guys, I know some of you are reading these. How about some comments and discussion?

Anonymous 11/06/10(Fri)12:39 No. 17079

I originally got into TMNT through the role playing game. I had never seen the comics before, but thought the turtles looked awesome, and the rpg had a little mini-comic in it that got me hooked. It's been a while since I read them, but the comics themselves seemed like they were founded on some really cool ideas, but kind of lacked a good notion of where to go. But then, maybe I just preferred the ninja vibe to sci-fi triceratops and so forth.

There's been a small bit of talk in 199X's IRC about maybe trying to do a TMNT RPG game on IRC sometime. Anyone interested?

the first TMNT movie is actually adapted from some issues of TMNT. Many episodes of the 2k3 series is also similarly adapted. But of course, yes, there are differences.

i'll post volume 2 once i see some actual discussion and shit going on in this thread.

What about your favorite issue...
Hmm, what is my favorite. Can't remember, should probably reread the series.

Anyone else see Turtles Forever? Found a stream of it once but can't remember where. Basically, it's the 2003 turtles working with the ones from the 80s to defeat the 2k3 Shredder. Good stuff.

Forever is pretty neat yeah. Would have been nice if they could get all the voices back and whatnot, but oh well.

This show broke the mold, taking a black-and-white comic book that was in fact always meant as a parody, and turning it into the biggest hit of its time.

Whether you were a Michelangelo, a Donatello, a Raphael, or a Leonardo, if you were a kid while this show was airing, you can bet you yelled "Turtle Power!" more than once. The show that spawned from the comic in turn made the franchise high profile enough for multiple feature films and video games and all sorts of apparel and other products. Heck, even now there's a "sexy ninja turtle" costume sold (seriously). These pizza-eating sewer-dwelling high-kicking turtles were proof that you didn't need "Marvel" or "DC" in your masthead to have awesome superheroes that could make the TV transition.

Here are "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" Donatello, Michelangelo and Leonardo like you've never seen them before ... without any CGI.

The actors playing the shelled crime-fighting superheroes (Jeremy Howard, Noel Fisher and Pete Ploszek) in the new Michael Bay produced reboot of the franchise were decked out in their high-tech outfits on the flick's New York City set on Thursday.

Raphael must have been busy at craft service or something.
