Jojo Bizarro 11/01/22(Sat)06:04 No. 9724 ID: 3651c7

I got 25 out of 37, but the quiz seems flawed. The Big Bang is a theory that somehow got elevated to religious dogma among many so-called “physicists,” including what’s-his-face in the wheelchair. The Universe always existed and isn’t expanding. The red shift comes from photons losing energy by bumping into particles on the way here. That explains why the red shift is the same in all directions. If there was a doppler shift from an expanding universe, we’d see one point in the sky where the shift was lowest, indicating the direction of the hypothesized origin point, and the opposite part of the sky would have the greatest shift, unless we so arrogantly think the Earth is the center of the Universe.

Also, dark matter is the epicycle of the 21st century. I’m ready to be branded a heretic now.

Anonymous 11/01/23(Sun)08:56 No. 9745 ID: 10a4a9

Photons don't lose energy by bumping into shit, retard.

Anonymous 11/01/23(Sun)15:40 No. 9749 ID: 3f5f43

hi there troll. just pointing out that according to the actual theory space itself has been expanding since the big bang. there is no origin point like you mean, the entire universe that exists IS the origin point, but inflated to a fairly big size. hence, background radiation and doppler shift everywhere.

Anonymous 11/01/24(Mon)05:45 No. 9764 ID: 39d1fa

Yes they do, retard.

Anonymous 11/01/24(Mon)13:33 No. 9772 ID: a46f26

...is this outdated? I don't recognize any of this stuff from my copy of "on floating bodies." Plus, it doesn't even mention aether.

Jojo Bizarro 11/01/24(Mon)15:35 No. 9773 ID: 54c9a4

>The entire universe that exists IS the origin point.

Think about what you just said. If the Universe is expanding, it has to expand into space that it didn’t occupy before, and if it was infinitely small at one time, then it had to have gotten bigger from somewhere. That somewhere is the origin point.

Furthermore, your calling me a “troll” is just your refusal to admit that I’m actually a heretic. I expected that, though. I’m done with this thread for good.

Anonymous 11/01/25(Tue)11:54 No. 9782 ID: 3f5f43

Anonymous 11/01/28(Fri)00:35 No. 9806 ID: 985667

You don't understand that absolutely everything is expanding. Imagine the universe is the surface of a balloon with little dots on it, as you blow it up, all of the dots get farther away from each other, with no single origin point. You are infact expanding yourself, as the gaps between individual molecules, atoms and subatomic particles that make you grow larger, due to the fact that space and time itself is expanding.
It's hard to get your head around, I can see why you're unwilling to beleive it.

Anonymous 11/01/28(Fri)00:46 No. 9807 ID: 9e5353

But fuck you, string theorists. String theory has made nothing but more string theory. They have not found any form of any sort of quantifiable answer to help with any field of science at all.

But at the same time if there is 37 questions by a 50/50 chance everyone should get about 18-19 right.

So to those who managed to get under that. Good job.
